Sanders has been an outspoken advocate of fighting climate change and creating green policies. It was a a major part of his Democratic campaign for president in 2016.
During Pruitt's confirmation hearing, Sanders grilled him with questions about the environment.
“Ninety-seven percent of the scientists who wrote articles in peer-reviewed journals believe that human activity is the fundamental reason we are seeing climate change. Do you disagree with that?” Sanders asked at Pruitt’s confirmation hearing.
Bill Nye has also spoken out more about politics lately. He is best known for his public television kids science show, "Bill Nye the Science Guy."
