@meredithmusing It's time for America to recognize your genius.#winning -
@DouglasEich I am such a nerd. Be nice to be recognized as such, but I'd settle for some freelance work.

@meredithmusing is this just timing of collections vs payouts? because annually there is still a deficit (which is not a problem) -
@emkaymitty To some extent, yes. The debt goes down in mid-April, for example, for the obvious reason. -
@emkaymitty No one serious looks at the debt the way Trump did. It's reported on a quarterly and annual basis. -
@emkaymitty The Treasury reports it on a weekday daily basis, but its reports are monthly and really boring (to me.)

-
@meredithmusing@suzyji Not to mention that there's probably no action Trump took in that first four weeks that could be accountable anyway. -
@steveclark414@suzyji Of course not. He's done nothing in that area, nor has Congress. We do, however, have another ceiling issue in March. -
@steveclark414@suzyji The Treasury shuffles things to have as much flexibility as possible as these deadlines approach.

@meredithmusing I'm most interested in your choice to look at 28day intervals and not months, giving you N=1432ish, right? -
@meredithmusing would that be N? I decided to go into software when I realized I liked making my thesis website more than my actual thesis. -
@shay_culpepper I thought I'd look at equal intervals rather than months, given there's only data on weekdays. -
@shay_culpepper Beside the Treasury, the debt is usually look at on a quarterly basis. Well, and when a debt ceiling deadline approaches. -
@meredithmusing more curious than anything else. Also, JUST realized you are a fellow developer. *high five*

@meredithmusing@ClaraJeffery and like he had anything to do w. Jan.'s number in the 1st place. -
@TimothyHollems@ClaraJeffery, yeah. It was a great combination of narcissism and meaningless info.
-

-
@meredithmusing@joshgreenman@realDonaldTrump how many calories did this exercise burn? -
@VJporter@joshgreenman Not nearly as many as I would have liked. Great question!
-
-
-
@meredithmusing@joshgreenman TIL! I never knew that with the deficit as large as it is that the debt /ever/ decreases. -
@craig_montuori@joshgreenman Yeah, it fluctuates, most notably in mid to late April but also when nearing the debt ceiling. -
@meredithmusing@joshgreenman So cool. Thank you for expanding my knowledge base!
