50,000 Dads Are In Jail Right Now

Using this logic maybe whenever there’s a civil suit and an amount needs to be paid by a guilty party there can be a way to hang a ‘contempt of court’ threat over their head if things don’t work the way they’re supposed to. Didn’t pay your heating bill, get sued by the provider. Don’t pay the provider? Well maybe they can get an order issued by a judge to force you to pay them. Right? Lovely! Then if you don’t pay you can expect a legal process that will eventually nail you with a contempt of court charge. Still don’t want to pay? You may find yourself criminalised and incarcerated for ‘contempt of court’. Judges will go ahead in this fantasy land issuing orders to pay pay pay here, there, everywhere, didn’t pay your electricity bill? The power company may not know the law but who cares, the top guy at the power company knows the judge. Issue an order, issue orders like cupcakes at a bake sale. Why don’t they just round us all up and lock us up? You see people the problem is there hasn’t been A MASSIVE WAR, to “take care of us dicks” that’s right, we’re too many now… Not enough men are dying off fast enough. So that’s a problem, we’ll just jail the cocks!

Sanitise society! That’s what this is all about. As if women were more pristine than men. Women dying en masse, never. Imagine a battlefield for of raging women. I can’t… All those battles, hard fought…losses… men, MEN sacrificed themselves. After WW II women didn’t know where to turn for quite some time. Many men died in war. Now war is fought with bombs and drones for the most part keep casualties to a minimum. So the population of men goes through the roof. So they start jailing us. That’s 50000 in jail for child support arrears. This is not to mention all the men jailed for other offences that could be considered less worthy of the punishment meted out. “he’s a problem, jail the bastard” that’s the substitute now for not having to deal with men. As if we were the plague! It’s the other way around, we are being treated like we are the plague. We are not the plague, we are men doing what men do! Damn it I don’t like the fact that I’ve gone off on a rant here but it’s too much injustice that I’m being exposed to and seeing other guys go through. This has got to stop! I understand the frustration. And I will explain here in another post.

KM, you caught me on my way to a rant fest obviously. I didn’t know where this thread would lead but I’m usually more level headed than this. I may not be able to give your comment the continuity it deserves. It’s another off day for me.

Basically I’m in a position of not being able to meet the payment the government is asking for. So I’ve had to advise my lawyer and it’s making me a little freaked out.

How does one stand up to the injustice all around us?

I honestly don’t know the right approach. There will always be evil in this world. One could spend his whole life fighting the system. But why?
Too me, it makes sense to just avoid the system.
If you never marry or cohabitate, and just avoid women, then women will have probably have limited impact on your life.
I take the same position with bad neighbors or coworkers. I don’t fight them. I just ignore them.
Focus on you and what makes you happy. Ignore everything else.

That’s the approach I believe in. I’ve managed to get to that space in difficult situations pre-divorce proceedings, but it’s been really tough ever since the bailiff showed up at my door with my ex’s request to divorce. I know I have to try to get there, I’m just having a hard time under the circumstances. And so I let injustices and frustrations get to me. Especially after dealing with an agent in charge of my CS file.
