Im a student studying in Heidelberg engine. I was at the main train station when a bunch of cop cars came flying by. It seems that everything is fine now.
Thoughts with those who are injured
EDIT: I was at Bismarkplatz and everything was pretty much alright. Some cop cars but people were out and about as if nothing happened.

What was the motive?
[–]Dmbender 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
No clue, I only saw the aftermath.
[–]thinkingcarbon 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
I'm up on the hill in boxberg, police blockaded off a huge area. Dunno what's going on there =S

Everyone within a 20 miles radius should post on reddit that they have been near the attack. What interesting posts. You saw some cop cars drive by?
[–]Dmbender 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
I mean quite a bit less than 20 miles but yeah i saw the cops. And the bakery and all of the stopped trams

As reported, it seems to be three wounded and the suspect shot by police. Compared to how it could have gone, this is very good news considering.

If only the police in Australia shot the maniac who did the same thing not too long ago.

Hmm, sounds just like an ISIS inspired terrorist attack.
    [–]Not_Cleaver 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
Yes, though it could still be a nutjob who decided to copycat them. That's happened before too. Look up Charles Bishop.
Though I would bet more on the terrorist angle than mental illness. Especially given the other recent attacks at Ohio State, Nice, and Berlin.

I visited Heidelberg before and it was a beautiful city. I just hope the number of casualties stays low.
    [–]Not_Cleaver 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
So far only three wounded. I'm glad the suspect was shot. Hope that hurt and he recovers and is in prison for the rest of his, hopefully long, life.

Let's see if Coulter law will be in play.

No doubt yet another person with 'mental issues'.
    <cough>

Quick, everyone act like they have no idea what the motive was or who did this!
      [–]EsportsLottery 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
I was X miles away. Saw some cop cars. Wow! - average reddit post.
      [–]yamerica -12 points-11 points-10 points  (9 children)
In a world of 7.4 billion people, three people being injured on the other side of the planet shouldn't be 'world news'.
And you wonder why people are afraid enough to vote for someone as delusional as Trump.
      [–]pineconecandle 8 points9 points10 points  (1 child)
Sorry but no. If this was an attempted terrorist attack like Nice or the Christmas attack in Berlin as it appears that it is then it certainly is "world news."
      [–]mike_pants[M] -2 points-1 points0 points  (0 children)
Police are saying it wasn't. So we've removed it. If things develop, we'll reinstate it.
      [–]EsportsLottery 6 points7 points8 points  (0 children)
It's not about the damage. It's the trend of taxpayers having to fund these new arrivals, pay for their homes, pay for their food, and take care of them all. While at the same time facing hostility and increased crime. In the world of 7+ billion we can see some very clear trends for certain cultures, attitudes, and the resultant effect on society.

How common were Islamic terrorist attacks in Europe even just five years ago?
Liberals are just as guilty for trying to push Islamic radicalism in Europe under the rug as the terrorists themselves.
      [–]MadScientoast 0 points1 point2 points  (2 children)
We literally don't know anything about the culprit yet
      [–]YellowCurtains 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
His post history is full of islamophobic comments. The truth won't stop his bigotry.
      [–]The-Smelliest-Cat -1 points0 points1 point  (0 children)
European terrorist attacks are the big news lately.
3 people being injured in Germany by a Muslim man is going to get more attention than 5 people being shot dead in the USA by a Christian man. It's messed up.
      [–]lucasbelaq -2 points-1 points0 points  (0 children)
Terrorist attacks happen several times a day. But you only hear about it if it takes place in Europe.
