People are ultimately selfish and self-serving. Even when people are charitable it's just done to boost their ego, and they can feel like a good person deserving good things.

Another you could argue against is that we have no free will since any action or thought we perform is a result of exterior factors that we cannot control. So in a way we don't have choices in life but are just along for the ride.

Another is we all die one day and consciousness will disperse effectively ending existence, at least for whoever dies. This is why I think religion is so popular, because it offers an alternative and people get to keep their consciousness after death.

No matter how hard you try eventually someone will be bigger and better than you.

Not sure if redpills, or maybe just random ideas.
