Ian's Road to Recovery
He's going to have a lengthy recovery road and is already worried about how he will afford it which is the last thing he needs.
Please help him to not worry about these bills.
Thank you,
❤️ His Sisters.
Much like most sibling relationships- my siblings and I don't always get along. My being the oldest however, my top priorities were always my younger siblings and having their best interest.
My brother is caring. He would give the shirt off his back or last $5 to a total stranger. He knows anything and everything about fish and other small creatures. He loves trying to cook. Yes I said trying- I'll always be the better cook ;) he loves spending time with his family and friends. Playing cards or enjoying a sporting game. He's stubborn and hard headed. He's determined and passionate. He's the biggest pain in my butt at times but he's also one of the first people to come to my rescue if I need him.
I've received many inquiries as to if this account is real. If it is for him. Why I keep upping the goal, etc.
Yes, this account is indeed real. Yes, I'm his older sister.
Yes, all proceeds are for him. As for the changing goals. The first couple of increases were due to the finances and reality of what is actually going to be needed. I still don't have actual numbers. But more importantly- I keep having requests to change the goal. Requests from people wanting to help Ian and to show support. For that- I will continue to do so.
The amount of love and compassion and support my family has received has been more than incredible and more than we could have ever hoped for.
Ian is not a hero. Ian was simply doing what he knew he had to do. What we were raised to do. Stand up for those who need it. Do the right thing no matter how difficult it is.
From the bottom of my heart and my family's, we appreciate all of the love, support, donations, and kind words. They have been so incredibly overwhelming and appreciated. The last thing wanted is for my brother to worry about medical expenses and the what if's this difficult situation is creating.
Again.
Thank you.
For everything.
Wow all of these people who are donating are amazing. And coming from a family friend. And a brother. I just want to thank everyone. I can't speak for the family but I'm speaking as a friend
Thank you for standing up to hate! I hope people follow your example. You literally took a bullet for a stranger because they were being persecuted. You are a shining example of humanity.
I'm feeling bad for the other two guys who don't have nearly as much money in their gofundme account and appear to have worse injuries. I can't put a link here but hopefully people will contribute there. Definitely praying for Ian as well.
Such a brave heart! Thanks for saving a fellow human beings life who is a friend, a hunband, a son and soon to be a dad! Speechless for an incredible act Ian! I wish you a speedy recovery.
Wishing for a speedy recovery Ian. People like you, who stand up for others and try to help is what makes this country great..

Ian, You are an amazingly brave person. You have personified the real America, we all know and love. I wish you a speedy recovery and thank you, your parents and family for the values you have.
Hi Ian, You don't know me but I wanted to say "thank you with all my heart" for being there, for standing up for those two guys at the bar and grill. What a kind-hearted thing to do for another human being. I work for Garmin and I'm greatly saddened by the hatred of this man who shot the three of you. I don't know the extent of your injuries but I truly hope and pray that you recover quickly. I know the emotional aspect will take much longer for everyone involved. All of this breaks my heart. I don't know what else to say except that I hope you're up and around real soon. Take good care of yourself.
Sorry I can't help finacially, but God is good & I will keep him in my prayers
We're so proud of your bravery, Ian! Get well soon!
You are a true American, Mr. Grillot. God speed in your recovery. Hope you catch a nice, big fish very soon.
A true hero you are. Get well soon brother...
Ian is in my thoughts & prayers. What a brave gesture made for a couple of complete strangers! Bless you, Ian. Thank you for your bravery & courage. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Ian- THANK YOU! As a female US Navy veteran of Indian decent, I thank you and salute you for your service to humanity! Thank you for standing up to hate and bigotry. You didn't have to put your own life in danger to help strangers, but you did. That speaks volumes about your character and courage. I wish you a speedy recovery. If only we had more humans like you, this cruel world would be a better place. Good luck! Hugs! ❤️
You are a HERO Ian. Get well soon! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thank you Ian for standing up for these two young people. I hope you recover quickly and fully. I admire your courage, and your love for fellow human beings. God bless you! Vani.
Thank you for standing up to hate! My friend was in the restaurant that night. I cannot imagine the courage it took for you to step up. My thoughts and prayers for a smooth and speedy recovery. ♥
Ian... You are a Hero.
An Angel got hurt by satan. He tried to stop evil trying to protect the vulnerable. A True Hero. Manifestation of the age old quote 'The true measure of a democracy is the way it treats its minorities
Ian, I hope and pray that you get well soon. Hats off to you and people like that have courage to help think and act to save/help other before self. Regards, Ashu
