In terms of the broader arc of the story, this episode is more about Mugi than about Moca and how watching her confront her own unrequited love and walk away helped spur Mugi forward into pushing a change in his relationship with Akane.

Hana also came to that conclusion this episode, learning from the guy who is all about sex so now both of them have chosen to confess albeit for different reasons. Mugi from the perspective that he's finally ready to move on if he has to (learning from the girl who knows what she doesn't want), Hana from the perspective that she's finally ready to take a chance for the possible gain (learning from the guy who knows what he wants).
