Has he ever said why he does it? It always bugged me a little shaking hands and leaving before the end of the game, but is there a reason behind it?

Who knows...but my theory is it's probably something simple as needs to take a piss a sort of a game routine type thing plus getting the board ready for halftime adjustments.
