It seems like you just want to be right and tell me I'm wrong because I'm saying something that doesn't agree with the accepted wisdom of the crowd.

• First you tell me I don't understand the problem, that it's actually a different problem (despite quotes like the above)

• Then you tell me your comments are sloppy and you don't know the details, but you're sure that if I looked at the details I'd see I was wrong

• The you tell me that even if I'm right, it's not interesting

• The you question why I'm even bringing it up, can't I just ignore it and focus on the ways other people have described problems?

It seems overwhelmingly clear to me that you're defending authority. Someone famous said something, and you don't know the details and you're not very clearly articulating your point, and even if I'm right maybe I just shouldn't mention it.

What the hell?! How is that anything except just a long winded appeal to authority?

And it's not just you, it's nearly everyone that spends more than a couple minutes in these forums. Anyone who articulates any idea that's different than what's taught in a Phil 101 course is downvoted and told their wrong in long flowery comments and buried by BS and minutia.

It's impossible to have a real discussion about philosophy on Reddit because of you and people like you. You just want to feel like experts and tell people they're wrong.
