Since we are all taking a trip down the memory lane I though I'd bring this up.

What are the most wierd, unusual, and experimental line-ups you can remember?

For me, in terms of experiments, definitely the Arsenal 3-2 win when Rash scored a double. The whole back four consisted of young unproven players.

Another one which comes to mind is again a win against Arsenal when SAF fielded 8 defenders.

Yup. Hanley scored late on. It was around Christmas time in 2011 iirc. I remember watching it because o was back home from uni.

That was midway through the season. You mean when grant Hanley scored? It was around Christmas time.

Didn't really cost us the title. Way too early on and didn't city fuck up as well?

I remember it well though as I was hungover to the hilt as my friend decided we should go out the night before as I was back from uni.

Lindegaard came in after that and had that clean sheet streak until the Newcastle match?

I think we played a diamond with no width, because we'd been shite mid week so Jose dropped some players.

I only remember because on the r/reddevils thread the top comment was something like "ok, what's the real line up?" And it tickled me.

When Rooney was dropped against Real Madrid I remember there was huge controversy when the team news came out. Also when Rooney started against Bayern despite being injured I remember the Germans got scared from it cause they were sure he was out...Both games carried a sense of injustice :(
