I still hear this comment from the other day ringing in my head, "They want to feel like they're doing the right thing without really thinking about what the right thing actually is." Consequently, they don't often have a well-articulated argument at the ready, but rather simply an emotional investment in political correctness. When you shake an emotional investment, you get an emotional response. Were it a logical investment, you'd get a logical response. But there's no good argument for open borders or absolute optimism regarding Islam (sorry folks, it's not a reality I prefer, but they have to accept the burden of regaining the world's trust). It's just feels right because America = bad and everybody else = good and victim.
