Author has written 15 stories for Team Fortress 2, Warhammer, Company of Heroes, Valkyria Chronicles, EndWar, Metro 2033, Call of Duty, Fallout, Familiar of Zero, Overwatch, Gate - Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri, and RWBY. Name: Kamzil118 I came here to this site on accident with a great interest in any Imperial Guard stories that I stumbled upon. Then I came upon the crossover section and was met with a great amount of variety and possible ideas which had suggested me to join FF.net. Whenever it comes to lore, I always try to research the lore as much as I can before I start a chapter and/or entry. However, I will always be limited due to the fact that books have a great amount of detail than what a wikia will always come up with. When it comes to reading stories or crossovers, I usually prefer crossovers which divert from the main plot. The problem I have with some of the generic entries is that the stories always have characters from another universe and thrown into a plot of another universe which does nothing more than just add characters to a plot we all know about. Another piece of me is that I am a Company of Heroes 2 player, although I am not active, I usually create stories based off of my experiences in the multiplayer, campaign, or custom matches. However, I do enjoy fandoms or lore such as Mass Effect, Warhammer 40k, Battlefield, Call of Duty, and RWBY. I would add in the Halo series, but my information on the lore is only limited to one novel and the games released. I should mention that I haven't played Halo 5: Guardians since I lack the resolve to even continue playing the series. Now there should be something I should also note in about myself which is important to know. There are fandoms I'm willing to enjoy such as RWBY; however, I do have tastes as an author and I have the right to have tastes. Here are the fandoms I will not write about and I hope all of you take notice of this. Anything related to Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Naruto will not be tolerated by me. Although I do enjoy watching Star Wars, it doesn't fit my tastes as 40k does happen to satisfy me with my favorite regiments. I even like the Mandalorians, but that is nothing in comparison to the rest of the universe. As for Harry Potter, I do not understand some of the crossovers with this character. Don't ask, plus I always found the Harry Potter series to be sort of meh by my standards. I won't say that I hate the series, but it isn't as interesting for me. Now for Naruto, I just don't understand the idea of a ninja driving a titan from Titanfall. I cannot understand some of the logic of some crossovers. My interest in the story died after reading the fourth book in the manga. Yes, I have the manga version of this story. As a reader, if someone recommends me to read an anime/manga series. I have to put an emphasis that it will take awhile to convince me since anything Japanese-related shows happen to deter me from continuing to watch/read. Even in some of the stuff like Familiar of Zero or Gate: Thus the JSDF fought there. It is very difficult for me to watch a series since it has a tendency to be long and drawn out. The only exception is Code Geass since I enjoyed it very well and I grew to like it. Tips for an Author Being an author in a community of fiction, I should point out a few things which are important for everyone to know. 1) Read, read, read. I can't put an emphasis on this enough, reading makes good writers and better authors. It has a sort of a passive observation which readers take in, but allow for other writers and authors to help them out in their work. It is also a good way to avoid writer's block as reading helps create ideas and stimulates the brain. Read. 2) When it comes to writing, I should suggest that you start to freewrite on your own. Nothing special, but something mundane or normal that you do throughout the day. Freewriting acts as a way to 'warm up' the brain when it comes to writing since it helps writers and author's to deal with this issue. Topics you could write about should be simple like food. 3) Grammar is key as well. Having good grammar means plenty and it helps you go far when it comes to writing a story. I understand this as I have seen various sights of grammar. Both were terrible or high, but the best way to get better grammar is to go to #1 reading. However, I suggest you read books and not anything of fanfiction. Reading books such as War and Peace, Count of Monte Cristo, or Sherlock Holmes. Reading fictions of higher quality helps acquiring better grammar and learns some little tidbits along the way. 4) For those who wish a hand in plot, try to learn something from a man named Joseph Campbell and Karl Jung since they sort of have a hand in terms of writing out adventure stories. However, they do fiddle around in other stuff. Places to contact Me I don't always linger around on FF.net, but here are the places I am always at. SpaceBattles RWBY Forums coh2.org Current News Okay, so all of my shit just got deleted because I was forced to format some stuff onto my USB drive. So all of the stuff I am working on is now gone. So I have to recover every single document from the ground up. Until I update, do not expect anything much to happen until then. |
