St Etienne have been charged by UEFA following incidents involving their fans during the Europa League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The French club's charges are for improper conduct of supporters, the throwing of objects and the setting off of fireworks.

Their case will be dealt with by UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Board on March 23.

A statement from European football's governing body read: "Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against AS Saint-Etienne due to the behaviour of their supporters during their UEFA Europa League Round of 32 match against Manchester United FC on 16 February 2017 at Old Trafford.

Following Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie with Blackburn Rovers, Jose Mourinho's side will travel to France for the second-leg which takes place on Wednesday.
