Change the filter to 2012-13 season and see who missed the most big chances. Yes Robin Van Persie with 23 big chances missed.

Dunno why you find the fact Lukaku is clinical surprising. He's class.

Maybe people see that he plays for Everton and think he'll be average but he really isn't, and they couldn't get a player of his quality to replace him no matter how much they get for him when he inevitably leaves.

True. If at all I want a striker at our club, it's him. Lukaku beats Harry Kane for me in all avenues.

Hmm I think Lukaku is a weird one. Sometimes he can look uninterested and then his first touch and passing can be way off. But when they're both performing at their peak I'd probably have him just over Kane yeah.

Both quality though.

It is easier to play when teams don't park the bus against you yet I am not saying he is average.

It's unpopular alright, but I agree with you. What has impressed me about Zlatan has been his overall contribution to build up play, holding the ball, passing, etc...but I haven't really thought of him as a great or even good finisher this season. Of course, his stats may say otherwise, but I don't really think he has been very good in goalscoring purely.

I think a lot of the credit should be to Mourinho for making the team play in a way that we create so many clear cut chances (may be remembering wrong, but even in Ferguson's later years we didn't seem to create so much). Zlatan has missed a lot of those clear crucial chances which I'm afraid may cost us top 4 this season (or even a title challenge).

This is just a fundamental misunderstanding of shooting statistics.

It makes sense that the players who take the most shots will miss the most chances, and it is also true that while missing clear cut chances, Zlatan has scored a good number of half or nothing chances.

His finishing has been slightly suspect given his stature, but not as bad as people make out when all things are considered.

I agree everything apart from the last paragraph. I do not think Martial is having a nice season either when it comes to scoring. Zlatan's conversion rate is low but he is the best player to play as striker in squad.

Wow that Vardy guy on 5 missed chances looks absolutely class. Last season he was shit though, with more missed chances than anyone. But now... he must be on 30 goals or something, no? Amazing improvement.

Think you're forgetting how good zlatans movement is and how he positions himself and creates chances for himself.

He's missed the most "big chances" but how many other strikers would be in position or create the space in order to even miss those chances?

He's a victim of his own talents when it comes to the missed big chances category.

More players need to start scoring and the fact that you suggest Zlatan to be benched when he's on a poor run is laughable to be honest, you don't do that when someone have scored as many goals as Zlatan have. He even have 4 assists (1 behind Rooney who has the most assists) in the league so even when he don't score he's contributing.
