In the mainstream narrative, men are portrayed as polygamous in nature; wanting to get with as many women as possible. While it's true that men will lust for attractive women, our baseline instincts are to find a good woman and devote ourselves entirely to her. I'd argue that being a player is a learned behaviour one acquires after seeing through the illusion that women are wonderful snowflakes.

Whereas women are portrayed as monogamous in nature. Which is just a facade, as we've discovered with the AF/BB principle, the cock carousel, cuckholding, etc. Women will begrudgingly accept a monogamous arrangement as long as it suits her needs.
