yes some times kickstarter projects are late i am waiting on some over two years now. but encouraging the snowflakes to take no responsibility is just feeding them more from the silver spoon they grew up on.
sure hope this one delivers but look at history it will be cancelled several times and each time will be brought back with a lower goal. again no responsibility for proper planning. and the price considerably way over any retail market but since t as i could use a new soldering iron. hopefully it actually solders and does not just make cold solder joints like in the video.
by the way were you lucky enough to get one that was delivered and how did that work out for you.

@Rich, The 3D Guy; @Jerry I have backed more than one of Isaac's projects and even when he was not able to deliver as scheduled, he did post updates keeping us informed. Since most Kickstarter projects do not deliver on time, I only consider the estimated delivery if it is unrealistic.

The Solderdoodle Plus button is just a micro switch, which requires much less force to push it down, so you're finger won't get tired. The original Solderdoodle used a metal spring switch, which required more force.
Unfortunately, for portable devices that can be misplaced, accidentally activated in a bag, or taken on a plane, any chance for the soldering iron to be left on indefinitely is a safety hazard so it must require manual activation to turn on. This way if you drop it, put it in storage, or it falls out of your hand, it automatically turns off.

So when I use the solderdoodle for long periods of time, having to hold the button down has made it very uncomfortable to use. Are you planning the new button to leave it turned on or do we have to hold the button to keep it warming?

@Isaac, Do you realize that your blatant arrogance makes you look like a complete fool and this Solderdoodle Plus campaign a risky investment? In reality, Isaac, you're a 23-time "Creator" with the majority of your Kickstarter campaigns ending in failure. You have NO justification in becoming nasty when someone questions the validity of this project.

Jerry is a known Troll on Kickstarter that never keeps his pledge. He removes his pledge before the campaign is over. He only pledges temporarily to gain access to the comments section and leave Troll comments.

you have to remember that snowflakes take no responsibility and they will quickly come up with an excuse for failure and if you don't like it then maybe they will have a protest march just like kickstarter takes no responsibility with creators who dont deliver.

There are more types of investors than the traditional sense you describe it in. we invest in you, your idea, and the product. We want you to succeed, and for that risk, we get an reward if you are a success and nothing if you fail. But I agree with all the other stuff you said.
I think you delivered good products on both campaigns I backed. So I have no trouble believing you will deliver a good product.

You are not an investor, you don't own any part of my business. You don't make any business decisions for me and you don't decide how the money is spent.
My history is that I deliver exactly and even more than what I promise. If you want Solderdoodle Plus, then back the project. If you don't, then don't back the project. It's as simple than that.
If you can't handle delays in shipping for situations that are beyond my control, then I would suggest you use Amazon Prime instead of Kickstarter. Kickstarter is not store.

@Isaac, I wasn't expecting such a nasty response as my inquiry was completely genuine and based upon fact.
You should always consider a crowdfunding campaign as a business -- whereas your personal hardships, however dire they may be, really bear no relevance on the campaign. When people make an investment in your "business", large or small, you should eat, sleep and breathe that project until your backers are rewarded.
So, I'll ask again. Will this campaign be delivered as promised?

It's charged by a standard USB 2.0 type A cable. No wall adapter required. If you want to charge from a wall socket, just use any standard wall adapter that comes with your cell phone, a USB wall adapter.

Are you talking about how I sacrificed everything to deliver you your reward no matter what life hardships happened to me?
Compare that to Pebble Time, Coolest Cooler, Retouch 3D, and other crappy Kickstarter projects that took your money and failed to deliver rewards even though they raised millions more dollars than me.
So yeah, I think I did a pretty good job exceeding what I promised to deliver.

@Isaac This looks like a well-designed and very useful tool for the maker community. Considering your extremely poor history with late delivery of your other campaigns, how can I have any confidence of getting this product delivered on-time or even close to its advertised delivery date?
