iPhone 6 , iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
The Apple iPhone 6s is probably the biggest 's' cycle upgrade the iPhone series has seen in the eight revisions . The new iPhone 6s looks practically identical to the iPhone 6.With the 's' series of phones, Apple has established a tradition of changing the inside, but not the outside of the phone. The iPhone 6s looks just like its predecessor, and you won't be able to tell the two from afar. Except if you don't happen to have the rose gold version of the new iPhone. Rose gold is the new color, and it's a subtle shade that appeals to both sexes and is not over the top kitsch.
We expect Apple will stick to its long running "S" naming scheme , calling the new phones the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. iPhone 6s Plus is a mouthful though, so it is possible that this might be the year that we get a new naming format. One analyst believes Apple might call its next-generation phone the "iPhone 7" due to the significance of the new changes being implemented, but it's far too early in development to know for sure.

The iPhone 6s in a lot of ways seems like it's simple enough to review, but it turns out if you dig deep the changes have been significant. Over the course of a review, we've found major changes in the SoC, storage solution, camera, touch screen, fingerprint scanner, voice recognition software, cellular architecture, and WiFi chipset. From a purely practical perspective, we're – – most impressed with 3D Touch and all the potential that comes with it, but also with Live Photos and 4K video, which looks a lot better than 1080p. If money is not an issue, these are indeed meaningful improvements across the board with the iPhone 6s, so you have a good enough reason to upgrade from the 6. Gamers should also be excited about the A9 and 3D Touch in games. For all the rest that are looking for a more practical reason to upgrade (rose gold does not count) and are more or less on budget, we'd say you'll be perfectly OK if you just stick with the iPhone 6 for another year.
