I'm not fanatical about Guy Martin like some but I do like him and have great respect for him as a rider. This interview with him shows he is back after a year off and he seems serious. It's great news for his fans and for road racing in general and I wish him the best.

A good move on Honda's part, as far as publicity is concerned anyway. Guy's profile is pretty high thanks to all his TV work so in that respect they will get very good exposure. The problem is going to be handling him as a person, he will want to get in there with the spanners and in the past had been a bit premadonnaish at the TT. They will need to learn to deal with his funny ways and stop him throwing the toys out of his pram to get the best out of him. A year off won't have helped but he is definitely quick and it think he will soon find his feet again. Pairing him up with John McGuinness is a good move too, I think they will learn a lot from each other in both riding and publicity terms.

It is with great sorrow that I need to announce the loss of our hamster "Nibbles"
It happened just before Christmas, less than a year before we got her and a year in which she made such a big impression for such a little thing.
When we first got her she was obviously a bit nervous and a little bit bittey, but she soon settled down and trusted us, she was a part of the family and became the friendliest of hamsters loving all sorts of fuss from anyone.
She was never any trouble, except when she used to escape from her ball, we still don't know how she managed to do it so easily and would use the opportunity to explore new nooks and crannies, chew stuff and get into the strangest of places.
Just before Christmas we noticed a lump on her neck, we were not sure if it was pouched food at first but it grew very quickly so took her to the vets.
It was diagnosed as a tumour and she was put on medication, unfortunately it did'nt help and she went downhill pretty quickly.
She seemed happy in herself, but when her back legs started to fail and she was obviously having problems with her insides we were advised that the kindest thing to do would be to let her go.... a very hard decision but we really did not want her to be in any pain. Her mobility was getting less and less and we felt that she would not like that.
Our vet put her to sleep with gas before giving her an injection to end her suffering.
She was a pretty little thing with a big personality. She was massively spoilt and we know we gave her a really good life, good food, lots of exercise and plenty of attention.
We will miss our Nibbles but we know she is in a better place. It was a previledge to have had her as part of our family.
Sleep well Nibbies we miss you.

Seeings I have a bit of spare time, well I don't really, I have got lots I should be doing, I'm just in a sunday mood, I thought I'd have a quick look on the internet to see what I might find.
These are my discoveries, not great many of them and there is few out of my collection I have missed but the whole point of this is to be able to have all my pictures saved to the ether so if something terrible happens, there is copies.
I'm more than happy for whoever wants to look can do, and do whatever they like with them, if you feel the urge.
I must admit I think I have got the lions share of the photo's now but if I find more I will definitely pop them into my little treasure trove.

This is great news, I really rate this guy and feel he could be one of the TT greats. He is highly talented, a consummated professional and the fact he has been keeping himself very sharp on the short circuits points to a the fact he will be a real force to be reckoned with on the Mountain circuit. Maybe not on his first year back, although I would not be surprised in a top five from him but once he gets his eye in, he'll be difficult to beat.

A bit of a shock, but I can understand why people don't want this job forever, if your at the top there's only one direction to go..... And that's no fun.

Well I found another file hidden deep in the computer, many of them proofs which are water marked, bloody clever photographers.
When I get the urge I will get some of them done properly.

We went out and about round Douglas last night for a few pints, nice to able to do this again.
Being in the Isle of Man bike racing pictures are common in many pubs, famous and not so famous local riders who are sponsored by the bars and clientelle.
This is a picture from the Saddle Inn a bit of a back street pub just off the quay and has some really good pictures adorning its walls.
So as a bit of a Sunday afternoon quiz can you answer these questions.
An easy one to start with.....Where is it?
A bit harder....who are riders no's 1, 2, 12 and 4?
For the really knowledgable..... who are riders 8, 7, 47 and 24?
For the Masters..... who is the rider obscurred by No12?
If anyone else apart from Mr +William Ferry can get these I will be most surprised
