My mother is super republican. I talked to her in the car and discussed politics with her, I told her that Alt-Right is hate and SHE FUCKING DENIES IT LIKE WTF! She is mad how democrats are doing shit, but she doesn't truly know anything about Trump supporters. She's mad how people disrespect the president, I'm mad how people are respecting this bastard.

My mother goes on Fox News because their slogan is "Fair and Balanced", they aren't, they are pro-conservative. She's also happy about DeVos supporting alternative educations, when little does she know that private schools and homeschooling has made my education extremely difficult and has fucked it up big time. Democrats are more caring than Republicans, they are fighting against this monster.

Trump is not better for my future, he is not at all. My mother mentioned to me that he is better for our future, but he fucking isn't. She says CNN is Clinton News Network when really it's Cable News Network. My mother said that if Clinton won, the Republicans would deal with it when little does she know about Trump Supporters hating.

I can't block Fox News from the router because who knows what would happen to me. I've blocked Brietbart, InfoWars, etc, so she doesn't fall into the stupidity even more. She says that Fox News shows both sides of politics, really they just support conservatism like a fetish.

Also while I was in the middle of typing this post, my mother came in with a fucking MAGA hat she just received from FedEx while I was at the dentist today, and worst of all, she received it from my uncle. Why is my uncle conservative? I look up to him for our Star Wars passion! She was all smirking and shit and I say "Cool story bro". This is driving me nuts.

I love my mother, she's raised me well honestly, I just don't want her leaning to the wrong side of politics. Alt-Right is full of hate, Republicanism is crazy, and this country was meant for Liberty. It even says it in the pledge of intelligence, although I hate how it says "Under God" as I'm an atheist. I respect people's beliefs but I believe in religious freedom and freethinking.

My condolences for your life..... I have no idea how it would be if my mother would be so careless about how my life is..... My mother listens to me and really wants that I feel good. For sure you know now that this is not the case with your mother, and I hope you are able to leave that situation behind you, cause if you stay there you will not come forward in life.... There is no chance you can explain it to her, the brainwashing was perfect, decades and decades of brainwashing... you cant undo it.... Sorry, someone had to be the rough one :-(

My mother is nice but goddamn idk how she sides with this shit in politics. I hate my life so much, your mother listens to you but sometimes mine ignores me with shit. She gets kinda mad that I'm reading liberal crap, like why? My birthday is coming up, hopefully something will lift my spirits on March 9th.

Yeah, some more time to stick with that. Be happy that you at least know the truth, just go with it. Relevant is that you distant yourself as much as possible, don't try to fix your mother, try to watch for the future. Try to learn already now what you wanna do in the future, so that you can jump out of this as soon as possible.... thats the best you can do.......... the moment you accept that your mother is not your side, you might also reflect that in the way you talk with her, and at some point she might really wants to understand what is the problem if you NOT bring it up, if she just sees how you get heartbroken by the situation. That is your best option, hoping for the heart of your mother. "A New Hope" ;)

My mother is religious, i am atheist and it is no problem. Religion in europe is not taking over the life, all decisions of my mother are defined by her social standards not the religious ones, still she believes there is a god above, she just denies that he is actually any authority, she just believes he is watching and so she tries to be good.... I am for sure not taking this from her :) Religion is not directly the problem, its the society, Americans do religions like they do their politics, like they do their football: Its a game and you want your team to win at all cost.

American religious, american religious...... There is a reason I can't read /r/atheism, because it is the same level of hate i despise. It is NOT about religious or not religious, its about "they vs us" everywhere in America, and that is making it so problematic. All the /r/atheism posts are just hate hate hate hate...... I don't get it, the atheists in europe have no problem with the religious people in europe, we dont have "they vs us", we just have "people". Who gives a shit what someone believes in their own home in their own life?..... Trying to say they are "bad people" cause of what they do in their own life is the core of the problem on all parts of the american society and all the problems that come out of this.....

I don't mind /r/atheism, I've been on their community for a while and they aren't that bad. They expose religious people for harmless acts. It's alright to think that, I respect what you think.

This probably makes me the angriest. There is no other side when it comes to facts. And most reputable news organizations avoid editorializing and simply report what is happening. Hearing the un-spun facts of the matter makes people stuck in dogma unhappy, they need the spin so they can sleep at night. That's the "both sides" crap Fox News addicts are so fond of repeating. It's nonsense.
