What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

About this project

iSaid-uSaid is a textig Application (App) that will help to improve communication between people in strained relationships. The App will offer content comprised of statement and comment cards to be texted, geared towards being at any stage of the relationship.  The App gives you the option to change “moods” on the cards pertaining to the user’s temperament at the time.

The App will assist its users to communicate in a positive and productive manner as they navigate through difficult circumstances.

 TARGET MARKET

The App will serve the target market of any person going through a breakup, separation, divorce, or already divorced. These people would like to see if there is anything left to salvage or re-kindle of their relationships.

As an example, in 2014 there were 2,140,172 marriages. Of those, 813,862 ended up in divorce, 38%. Had this App existed, how many of these relationships could have been salvaged?

The App’s unique purpose is to help the user steer their troubled relationship by having meaningful conversations through the use of the App’s content.

The user will be able to select from five mood-categories ( Angry, Sad, Frustrated, Happy, Calm). They will view a list of available messages for each mood and be able to easily navigate through different messages for their selected mood.

After selecting the desired message, the user can select a contact from his or her contact list or enter a telephone number. The text will be sent through MMS, Multimedia Messaging Service.

This will result in alleviating face-to-face discussions from spinning out of control.  If and when, their in-person discussion does blow-up, the user resorts to the App content, therefore eliminating becoming perplexed, tongue-tied and being at a loss for words.

Otherwise, too many hurtful or angry comments are thrown in to the mix without thinking it through.

The user especially wants to keep discussions quiet if there are children involved who can over-hear and understand adult arguments and conversations.

The App will serve those people who are exhausted by the same old discussions leading to less than fruitful conclusions.

When anxiety runs hot, these discussion-starters or enders can be used to put things in check, place the user in a calmer frame of mind, and stream-line their ongoing and never-ending conversations within their troubled relationship.

Phase 2 of the App will incorporate the use of an elected paid, monthly subscription service, for the professional advice provided to our users by Dr. Michael Rimm.

Dr. Rimm is a Psychiatrist who specializes in Adult and Pediatric Psychiatry and practices in Maui, HI.  Practicing for over 25 years, a primary part of his practice is Family and Marriage Therapy.

Should the user wish to ask Dr. Rimm a question about their troubled relationship, the user will be able to email him directly. Michael will respond directly to the user on a one-way only email-feed.

As part of the subscription service, the user will have access to the app’s website where they will find Michael’s FAQ section, updated monthly.

To generate initial interest, iSaid-uSaid is launching as a free version, allowing the user access to 5 Mood Cards within 5 Mood Categories. The receiver does not have to download the App to receive. He or she can reply using normal SMS text (short message service), or use the free version with the App invite sent by the user.

 THE COMPETITION

There are no apps or websites currently in use that present the unique service iSaid-uSaid will provide.

Risks and challenges

Of course there are always risks and challenges with any new project. My App is no different from any other new app on the Apple Store. The risk is simple; what if nobody wants to use it? This is answered with marketing and advertising strategy to get the exposure out there, which I have in place.

A local newspaper where I grew up in South Jersey is doing an article / interview just after the App is launched. As well as another SoCal local paper looking to write one as well. Social media sites are also being used for massive exposure.
I have no other projects to be completed and there is no permission from anyone needed to launch my App once I have the funding.
