Before I go into my fuck up. I want to tell you guys a little more about what happened before it happened.
So I am selling something for bitcoin. Its not something illegal don't worry. Its a digital item regarding steam. I priced it at $160. This guy saw my post and decided to hit me up.
He agreed to buy the item in exchange for bitcoins. Just like all cash transactions over the internet, we had a difficult time choosing who goes first. I decided to go first after all the legit checks we could do. I then gave him my bitcoin address for him to send the money after he gets the item. He sends me a confirmation in price before sending the money. He then sends me a screenshot of him sending me the money, he sends me another screen of the confirmations. After a few minutes of waiting, I still haven't received the money so I go recheck every screenshot he sent me. I noticed that among all the random letters and numbers that make up an address. There has been 1 letter that wasn't right. (Instead of a p there was a q). So right now I can't do anything about it. I didn't ask for the item back.
I dont think that the guy I was dealing with was a scammer, he was really nice and patient. I just think that a little carelessness on my part was the reason for the fuck up. I didn't re read my address to see if it was right.
TL;DR: Made a deal, didn't check btc address, money sent to the wrong address.
Sorry if reading this hurts the eyes. I wrote this while crying.
