One of the essential elements of SEO is keyword ranking and position.
It is absolutely necessary for a blogger or SEO professional to check their Google keyword ranking for target keywords. One of the most common mistakes bloggers and website administrators make is that they write and publish articles without targeting any keywords at all.
It takes only 2-3 minutes to use a keyword research tool like SEMRUSH or the Google keyword search tool to find which keywords to use. Make sure you take advantage of these tools in order to accomplish this very important step!
Once you are finished writing an SEO-optimized post using your target keywords, your next task is to keep track of its search engine rankings and to continue building backlinks with the proper anchor text.
**Again, proper keyword selection is one of the main factors involved in achieving a better ranking in Google’s search engine.**
Every blogger must aim to use the keywords which users search the most, especially those keywords which will help your website show up on one of the first few pages of search results.
If you accomplish proper on-page SEO, chances are good that you will appear in the first 50 search results.
To improve your SEO, you must manage keywords properly so that you can find out which keywords are strong for your particular domain and which are not. This information allows you to work on using the strongest keywords, thus increasing your likelihood of getting a better ranking in Google and other search engines.
In order to accomplish this goal, you need a tool which can tell you where a specific keyword ranks in Google’s search results without manually going through 100’s of search results and pages.
To help you to do this, we have compiled a list of some excellent free online tools to use to check your target keyword position in Google.
5 Useful Google Position Checker Tools:
1. SEMrush
SEMrush is my favorite tool on this list as it is a complete solution for keyword checking.
You can enter your website URL or the individual URL of a blog post, and it will show you which keywords you are currently ranking for. You can further click on any resulting keyword to check keyword competition and other details.
It supports Google (you can select Google Search based on your target geographical region) and Bing.
SEMrush is professional software that is easy to use, and you can try it for a couple of weeks for free before deciding whether you want to subscribe.
- You can use this link to get a free 14-day trial of SEMRUSH.
Overall, SEMRUSH is an amazing tool for checking the position of keywords in search engines.
2. Ahrefs
I’m pretty happy with SEMrush, but if I ever have to replace it with anything else, it’s going to be Ahrefs.
This one is loaded with tons of great features. It automatically detects what keyword your website is ranking for & you can specify ranking based on country.
Google Rank Checker is an excellent free online utility which helps users track keyword positioning in Google search engine results.
In order to use this service, simply put in the keyword you want to search along with the domain name, and it will show you the position of that specific keyword in Google.
It’s that easy.
4. iWebTool Search Engine Position Checker
Like Google Rank Checker, iWebTool Position Checker is another handy utility which helps users track keyword positions. The utility is simple and easy to use.
All you have to do is type the keyword you want to search, and you’re done!
Check out iWebTool Position Checker
SEOCentro is one of the best keyword checking tools I have found to date.
With Rank Checker you can check the performance of specific keywords in multiple search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. The result will give you complete details about a specific keyword including its rank in various search engines, along with a history of the keyword.

Check Your Keyword Rank
Of all the keyword rank checker tools on this list, SEMrush is my top choice for checking keyword positions in Google and Bing searches. I’m sure you’ll like it as well, as it also offers other features such as a backlink checker, a full site audit, and a few other really cool things.
If you use any other keyword position checker tools which works well for you, let us know via the comments section below.

Nice list of tools. Will try SEMrush.
Thanks AGRAWAL you have made a wonderful post. I love and appreciate your commitment, great cuddles.
I love the simplicity of SeoCentral Rank Checker but am beginning to notice is not as accurate as it would be. Ahrefs is really good and have seen it use by most internet marketers. They mostly use it for split testing work, i think that is recommendable.
Thanks
Great..
I always Use SERP lab to Find Keyword Rank for my website, its free and real you can use up to 100 keywords in bulk for each website.
Great advice and some good keyword tools here, will be using some of them.

I personally like SEOCentro. Because it has been most accurate rank checker for me amongst other free tools. Besides, I like ahrefs so much. :)

I like the 3rd tool Google rank checker very much. Gives accurate results for major countries listed. I have to check 3 countries for my websites and this tool is easy to use and always reliable. By the way iwebtool.com is down please remove it from the list. Their website is closed forever it seems. Thanks for this list very useful for me.
I actually always use SpreadsheetBooster, google it it’s a great tool!
I usually prefer google tools because it’s free and trusted, but way you put Semrush number 1 on the list, is there any reason of this ? or it’s just your subjectivity, I also use Simple rank checker which recommended by my friend, it’s quite an easy tools too. anyway tank’s for the post god bless.

Did you see the latest update of Google Webmastertools? Their new interface has a pretty good rank tracker per keyword (over time) too. Do you think there is still a future for paid ranking trackers with this change?
Thanks for this article. I trawled through so many pages on Google trying to see where my website ranked for specific keywords – until I found this article and did the same job in just a few seconds!
hello harsh bro

@Harry
I tried your shared link and it works pretty fast and good. Thanks for value addition.
@Acep
That’s because of various reasons:
Your location
If you are logged into Google account or not…
I personally prefer using Authority labs or SEMRUSH..both are great
Here is a review of Authority labs: https://www.shoutmeloud.com/authoritylabs-review-keyword-rank-tracking-tool.html
Rank tracking service Rankinity can check state/city level.
Thx for the post.
I used most of these tools.
But the problem is that I need to check my site ranks on a state/city level (my business targets some coastal cities). The tools enumerated above aren’t capable of doing that.
The tool that I’m using for checking my site local ranks is called Rank Tracker (an app from SEO PowerSuite toolkit). So I would added it to the list of the tools mentioned here.
;)
Barbara, thanks for mentioning SEO PowerSuite. It is true that unfortunately people don’t pay much attention to the accuracy of data – quite often they simply think that the data provided by online tools out-of-the box is accurate and up-to-date, but you’re absolutely right that in case one needs accuracy, you need to make some preparations first, and then get real proper results. Thanks for pointing this out to the audience.
I have used many tools to check keyword rankings like Rank Checker, Rank Cute, etc.. I found that using the most accurate Rank Cute!
Very useful list of tools , unfortunately many of these have limit on the number of keyword rank check
I have used some of these tools, as such they are good but still to get the results which I want I think SERC is the best. It gives out me desired results and gives me a perfect rank position without any issue.
Free rank checkers are fine at the beginning, but once you have more sites it’s worthwhile to check out online rank checking services like serpranktracker.com and micrositemasters.com. They are paid services but do offer free accounts for up to 10 keywords. I’d choose them any day over the supposedly ‘free’ services. Free is not free when your time is money, and with a paid solution you save much more time in the long run.
I’d like to recommend one more – colibritool.com. They check positions of your website’s keywords, your competitors, conversion and backlinks. Very useful :)
Hi guys,
i used this program “FREE rank checking tool for Google” of CleverStat. Yesterday my website was to 273 position on google search for a keyword search. Today i don’t find the website in list.

These are great keyword ranking tools, I particularly like the first one in your list, Google Rank Checker. It produces rather accurate results I think.
Mr. Hammad Saleem
It is your first article on shoutmeloud.com. Really, there is no doubt very nice & useful article you have written. Tools are very good & useful. My hearty thanks to you.

A helpful list for bloggers. I was aware of iWebTool, others are new…I’ll give them a try.
great tools. will try these. currently i am using the google’s keyword generator to view the keyword popularity.
iweb tool is I think good for nomal results.
but if we need more advance results I would prefer -> SEOCentro Rank Checker
Yeah, these web tools are good – no doubt.. but you need to keep entering your links manually all the time to track the positions of your keywords.. which i would not want to do…
you should try google monitor (free) or market samurai (paid) to track the status of your keywords in the long run…
Seriously i’ve used google monitor in the last one week and it looks too cool for a free tool.. you should try it!
I don’t agree with you Sandeep! According to my experience you don’t have to submit links manually or thru software’s for your website. You just have to focus on quality of the website not on quantity. I have worked with many small and medium sized websites and companies in India, USA, UK. It is not required to make backlinks or bookmark your websites. Point is that what is your major requirement, if you are looking only traffic then you may also go to traffic exchange website or targeted visitors network. But if you looking quality visitors, leads and sales then you have focus on your website (onpage SEO) first. That’s all.
can you help me for keyword rank checker website in google all of these are only check 100 page of google . but i want to check it from 1k or greater kindally help me thanks
