The Remainder of our Season (self.reddevils)

Just curious as to what the rest of the community think our remainder of the season will be like. Will we manage to claim a place in Top 4, or will we fail to claim a spot?

More or less, the title is beyond reach. However, the Top 4 (as most of you know) is very much claimable and realistic if you look at the table.

  1. Chelsea - 59 Points
  2. Spurs - 50 Points
  3. City - 49 Points
  4. Arsenal - 47 Points
  5. Liverpool - 46 Points
  6. United - 45 Points

Although we are currently sitting in 6th place, since the defeat to Chelsea, we are still only 5 points behind Spurs. This shows that the place for Top 4 isn't impossible. However, if we are to take a spot in the Top 4, we very much need to rely on the teams above us to drop points.

With Arsenal and Liverpool's recent performances, it's crucial we take advantage of their situation. For Liverpool's next 3 games its:

  • Vs Spurs at Anfield (February 11th)
  • Vs Leicester at King Power (February 27th)
  • Vs Arsenal at Anfield (March 4th)

They've got a pretty tough run of fixtures for their next three games, which two of them being against the two NL clubs at home. Realistically, in my opinion, I think they will lose to Spurs, beat Leicester and draw with Arsenal, which will draw them with 4 Points. As for Arsenal, their next 3 games are:

  • Vs Hull at The Emirates (February 11th)
  • Vs Liverpool at Anfield (March 4th)
  • Vs Leicester at The Emirates (March 11th)

Since the two teams above us play each other, we are bound to capitalize on either one of them. It would be preferred by us if Liverpool lost against Arsenal, however, a draw is still very much useful, but this means we more or less can't lose our next three games if we are to climb from 6th, which are against Watford, Bournemouth, and Southampton, in which two of the three games being played at Home, which applies for the same for Arsenal and Liverpool's next three games.

If we want to be in that Top 4, we can very much do it, but also have to rely on the teams above us. What do you think our remainder of the season will be like? I know the analysis was only over three games, but I didn't want to make this post too long!

WILL WE BE ABLE TO GET TOP 4???

Yes. This is the confidence we need amongst our supporters! We need to be behind the club and the players through thick and thin. I'm confident of us making Top 4, but we also have to place our luck within Arsenal and Liverpool mainly (annual bottle?).

It's going to go down to the wire. We play Arsenal, Tottenham and City in May.

It would be lovely to knock City out of top 4 on last day of the season but given the fixtures ahead, we're simply not going to know until May.

If we win all our games we will finish 2nd, I think we can afford to lose a couple of games and still finish top 4. But it is very much in our own hands.

I'll be happy with a cup (EFL or FA cup) and top 4. If we win the europa, idc if we finish 10th cos league standings will be meaningless (cos we get UCL if we win europa)

We have to get some wins against the top 5 that's a must for the remainder of the season if we can get a couple then I think we'll get top 4

We don't need to rely on teams above us to drop points as we will play all of them bar liverpool again. I have all the faith in the team that we are capable of gettin the top4 and win one or 2 cups as well.
