I can not understand why the President chose this woman. She savaged him during the campaign.

I think it may have something to do with the 200 million dollars she donated to the Republican party. One of the platforms Trump ran on was "draining the swamp". I took this to mean cutting back on pay to play politics. How is this nomination anything more than just that, pay to play?

[–]DamagedHells 225 ポイント226 ポイント  (0子コメント)

What? That's your answer?

So, you're judging her on disloyalty/her allegiance during the campaign, and not her massively glaring gap in qualifications?

Really? If you're actually puzzled you should read up on her political donations over the past couple years.

[–]MoonStache 7 ポイント8 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Can this answer be interpreted to mean you believe all of Trump's picks should support him without question? I don't support the decision either, but someone having criticized you is not a reason in and of itself to cut them from a list if they are qualified (she isn't).

I just find it curious you're concern lies with the fact that "she savaged him during the campaign" and not the fact that she is wholly unqualified for the position.

Roger, at an official observance of Black History Month, Trump went off on a self-indulgent and disrespectful tangent about CNN being fake news. Then the next day at the National Prayer Breakfast, he went off on a self-indulgent and disrespectful tangent about ratings for the Apprentice. I would be curious to hear you defend the proposition that this is acceptable behavior for the president of the United States.

/u/Roger-Stone, stepping away from politics for a second into one of your other interests -- as a noted fashionista -- what are your thoughts on Mr. Trump's horribly tailored suits? Have you ever spoken to him about this? His jacket fittings are a national disgrace.

On July 23, 2015, the Guardian in London reported that Putin’s approval ratings were at record high levels, with 9 out 10 Russians approving of their president in a poll that highlighted support for Putin’s strategy of invading Crimea and Ukraine.22 On July 30, 2015, while he was attending the British Open, Trump said at a press conference that he would have no problem working with Putin. “I think I would get along very well with Vladimir Putin. I just think so. People say, ‘What do you mean?’ I think I would get along well with him,” Trump, wearing a red “Make America Great Again” cap, told a reporter. “He [Putin] hates Obama, Obama hates him. We have unbelievably bad relationships. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. She was the worst Secretary of State in the history of our country. The world blew apart during her reign. Now she wants to be president.”23

Throughout 2015 and 2016, the New York Times fanned the flames, building Trump’s initial controversial remarks into a theory Trump and Putin were working behind the scenes in a secret conspiracy to defeat Hillary Clinton.

In a press conference held a year later, in Doral, Florida, on July 27, 2016, Trump said he hoped the Russian intelligence services would release Hillary Clinton’s emails that the Democrats were claiming the Russians had hacked from Hillary Clinton’s private email server while she was Secretary of State. “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said in an apparent reference to Mrs. Clinton’s deleted emails. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.” The New York Times article reporting on the Doral press conference led with the following paragraph: “Donald J. Trump on Wednesday said he hoped Russian intelligence services had successfully hacked Hillary Clinton’s email, and encouraged them to publish whatever they may have stolen, essentially urging a foreign adversary to conduct cyber-espionage against a former Secretary of State.”24

This theme developed into a “meme,” or narrative, Hillary supporters used throughout the campaign to attack Trump by claiming Trump was working in coordination with Russia to the detriment of US national security interests. At the end of the campaign, the Democratic meme morphed into the narrative pushed by far-left supporters of Hillary Clinton that Trump won because Russia supplied “fake news” churned by “alt-right” reporters, including Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report, Alex Jones of Infowars.com, a staff of reporters at Breitbart.com and WND.com with campaign coverage led by Jerome Corsi. Milo Yianoppolous of Breitbart captured the imagination of millions of millennial voters drawn to his outrageous assault, confronting the far-left as an unabashed conservative homosexual who continued to beat the mainstream media to the punch with big scoops and provocative content. Trump’s message, each time I appeared on Alex Jones, reached more people than it ever did on Fox News prime time because Jones’ online army turns in a monstrous following. The Making of the Pres... The 2016 presidential campaign was the first to be fought and won on the Internet. Donald Trump mastered the art of dominating the news cycle simply by posting a Tweet that was so outrageously compelling that it went viral the moment it was posted. The journalists at Drudge, Alex Jones, Breitbart and WND plus radio talk-show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage with their enormously large and loyal national radio audiences, plus Sean Hannity almost alone on Fox News for his unwavering support of Trump, were the backbone of the alternative media support Trump received from the beginning of his campaign. Trump voters in Middle America in 2016 turned off MSNBC and CNN—some even turning off Fox News itself—as most established radio and television news personalities persisted in questioning Trump, if not outright ridiculing his candidacy.

While many other conservative websites and reporters contributed, Drudge led the charge, posting a top center headline and photograph on June 16, 2015, the day Trump declared his candidacy, proclaiming “Donald Goes for White House.” Increasingly as the campaign progressed, the real action was not in the traditional mainstream media or in the polls, both of which were badly biased in favor of Clinton. In the aftermath of Trump’s victory, the widely read economics blog ZeroHedge.com posted an article headlined, “How Matt Drudge Won the 2016 Election.” The article noted that the news aggregation site Drudge.com spent much of the 18 months leading to the general election highlighting polls and stories that predicted a Trump win. “In an election cycle when just about everyone got it wrong, Matt Drudge ended up vindicated,” the ZeroHedge.com article noted. “The editor of the massive, conservative news aggregation site spent much of the last 18 months leading with those rare polls and stories that predicted a Trump victory—meanwhile the Huffington Post, sometimes called Drudge’s liberal mirror, gave Hillary Clinton a 90-something percent chance of winning just hours before the polls started closing.”25

A much more accurate measure of how completely Trump was resonating with what Richard Nixon called “the Silent Majority” was the strong support Trump received on social media websites like Twitter and Facebook. In all of 2016, Trump dominated the non-scientific immediate online polls, with thousands scoring him the victor. To counter this populist support, the Clinton campaign, like the Obama campaign in 2008 and 2012, hired surrogates, commonly called “trolls” or “bots,” as in “robots,” to post disinformation deemed favorable to Hillary to complicate Internet threads on social media websites trending favorable to Trump. But even later, when scientifically conducted polls produced contrary results, showing Trump had actually lost a particular debate, it didn’t matter. What mattered was the hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters self-motivated to go on-line the minute the debate ended to register their vote that Trump had won. Hillary, even after her paid trolls got involved, never received or deserved that type of online voter action.

What Clinton supporters in the mainstream media failed to understand was that in creating controversy, Trump was following a basic principle known to professional political operatives and campaign advisors—namely, dominate the media, even if what the media is saying about you is negative. Clearly, Trump’s controversial statements about Mexico, McCain, and Putin hurt him among the bi-coastal elite appalled, for example, that Trump dare speak negatively about illegal immigrants, aliens among us that the elite preferred to call “non-documented guest workers.” Unlike McCain, who lost to Obama in 2008 after reprimanding radio hosts for daring to mention that Barack Obama’s middle name was Hussein, for fear of insulting Muslims, Trump shot from the hip. While Obama had imposed sanctions on Russia in an attempt to get Russia to pull out of Ukraine, Trump praised Putin’s ability to direct an aggressive, but successful military strategy—something President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had failed to do in the Middle East.

The point is that during the summer of 2015, every cable news station and every nighttime network news program broadcast by NBC, ABC, and CBS was preoccupied with stories discussing Trump. It was possible in July 2015 to flip channels and find every news station on cable or satellite television discussing Trump at the same time. Granted, most of the coverage, even on Fox News, was negative—in the case of Fox News because the network appeared to have imposed a bias in favor of GOP establishment candidates, like Jeb Bush, who were supported by Republican leaders in New York and Washington. What seemed clear in the summer of 2015 was that the bi-coastal mainstream media heavily favored Hillary to win, even to the point of suppressing bad news that might negatively impact Hillary’s candidacy, while promoting any news that might cause Trump trouble. But the point, which should have been obvious to all experienced political operatives, was that Trump had managed to dominate all news coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign. Whether the audience loved or hated Trump, the only thing the American public wanted to talk about during the summer of 2015 was Trump. The news dominance Trump was commanding was rivaled in modern times only by the sensation Barack Obama caused when he first came on the national scene.

Who the hell is Carter Page. I never met or heard of this guy. I did hear he wormed his way onto some 100 member egg head advisory group in the campaign.

For months, you have heard that I colluded with Julian Assange of WikiLeaks to release the DNC emails and the emails of top Clinton aide John Podesta. These claims are of course patently false, as I and Mr. Assange have never met.

Like with most things, the defeated and apoplectic leaders of the Democratic party are trying to blame anyone and anything for Hillary Clinton’s disastrous loss. The emails revealed everything that Democratic operatives (Clinton partisans) did to rig the election against upstart Bernie Sanders, it exposed their “anything goes” mentality when it came to electing Hillary Clinton.

roger stoneWhat is lost in this discourse, by design, is the actual content of the emails. The content that revealed cash payments and cozy relationships from Clinton world to a majority of mainstream media anchors, prime-time political reporters, and others who constantly reminded us of their “impartiality.”

After months of coordinated hit pieces and sham reports featured on Fake News outlets like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NYT, Julian Assange of WikiLeaks on numerous occasions had signaled that he had unspecified political dynamite that would shake up the presidential race.

Like many of you, I was anxious to see these leaks, and suspected that people like John Podesta and maybe even Hillary Clinton would have their private communications released. I did not have direct knowledge of the hacks, I did not facilitate the hacks. This narrative is from the same people who were found to have financial and personal allegiances to Hillary Clinton and her globalist puppet masters.

The Democrats played dirty pool against Bernie Sanders and greased the palms of the mainstream media for a relentless and ultimately unsuccessful blitzkrieg on Donald J. Trump. What was released through WikiLeaks simply confirmed suspicions long held by millions of Americans, it confirmed that the Clinton family is so hungry for power and relevance that they will do and say anything to steal the White House.

So, when you read the news reports and clippings of a massive Russian conspiracy, think about the source. These Clinton Cohorts in the media, in Washington D.C. and intelligentsia’s would rather incite a global conflict with Russia than admit their role in stealing the election from Bernie Sanders and under the table payouts from the Clintons.

Donald J. Trump is a direct threat to the endless war and machinations of the political establishment. Because of this, they will seek to distract and deflect on every front, most importantly with WikiLeaks.

The content of the leaked documents was damning enough, but the push-back from Clinton collaborators and their march towards war with Russia is all they can do to undermine his mission… our mission to Make America Great Again.

you are trying to shift the focus on to Hillary when she lost months ago, it is campaign speech, but the campaign is over

as to who carter page was

RYAN: Thank you… We’ve heard you’re going to be announcing your foreign policy team shortly… Any you can share with us?

TRUMP: Well, I hadn’t thought of doing it, but if you want I can give you some of the names… Walid Phares, who you probably know, PhD, adviser to the House of Representatives caucus, and counter-terrorism expert; Carter Page, PhD; George Papadopoulos, he’s an energy and oil consultant, excellent guy; the Honorable Joe Schmitz, [former] inspector general at the Department of Defense; [retired] Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg; and I have quite a few more. But that’s a group of some of the people that we are dealing with. We have many other people in different aspects of what we do, but that’s a representative group.

so he was important enough to be mentioned by the now president as one of the top people for his foreign policy team, that does not sound like some egghead that weaseled his way on to some 100 member advisory group

so maybe you did not know Carter Page, but you are trying to minimize the role he had and your reply screams of LOOK AT THIS INSTEAD THE OTHER SIDE WAS BAD TOO

Donald J. Trump is a direct threat to the endless war and machinations of the political establishment.

You cannot possibly be this gullible and naive.

In the 13 days since inauguration, Trump has done nothing but to alienate allies, ramp up US aggression abroad, and put us on a path to more war and more conflict. He's emboldening ISIS and other extremists with unconstitutional travel and immigration bans on the very same Iraqis that fought with us and bled with us for years in the fight against terrorism. His most trusted political ally, Steve Bannon, is going around claiming that a war with China in the South China Sea is inevitable. (Edit/addition: Trump himself personally told CIA that we're probably going to have a second chance at plundering Iraq's oil!) He is proving himself to be the biggest warmonger we have ever seen occupy the White House.

Not to mention, he's still engaging in all the same pay-to-play "machinations" of the establishment, giving cabinet positions and ambassadorships to billionaire donors like Betsy DaVos and Woody Johnson. Multiple positions were gifted to Goldman Sachs after he spent months railing against Wall St on the campaign trail. He has broken just about every promise he made regarding rooting out corruption in Washington and returning the power to the people. Instead, he's accelerating and promoting corruption by cutting out the middle man and turning over the entire government directly to the hands of billionaires/corporations.

Trump is a threat, for sure. But the only thing he's threatening is the future of this country.

Damn that reads like it was written by a small team of public relations/marketing people with some lawyers thrown in. He has never "met" Assange? What about phone calls, emails, Skype or other types of electronic, verbal, or written communication?

Terms like, "Did not have direct knowledge of the attacks" and "did not facilitate" the attacks. Read between the lines people.

He didn't help the attacks with his own resources, he didn't have direct knowledge, which indicates he did have knowledge. Hearing/reading "no direct knowledge" gives the reader the impression he had nothing to do with it...when, in fact, he actually is admitting to having knowledge about it. It's right there, in his own words. He can't say he didn't have any knowledge, because if it were found out later he did, this AMA could bite him in the ass.

You can see the careful word choices. The wording also deflects onto Democrats being "sore loosers". None of that was asked about in the original question. The redditor wanted to know what he thought about the 19% -- And I don't see that number typed one time in the reply. Anyone else notice that?

I read a lot of sideways distractions, deflection, omissions and misdirection ... all mixed together with careful word choices. This is the internet, and these types of things are out there forever. This man is smart enough not to say anything that could later be used in a court room or a congressional hearing.

We're not going to get anything insightful or meaningful out of this, other than a release date for some book.

I address this in my new book extensively. This is 2 and 2 being made to equal 6. When I tweeted in late August, that "John Podesta's time in the barrel will come soon." I refer to an article I posted 3 days ago outlining Podesta's ties to the Russian mob & money laundering for the Clinton foundation. All this information is originally reported, and wikileaks is not the source.

I have been forthright about the fact that Julian Assange of Wikileaks and I share a common friend who has communicated with both of us. I was simply told Wikileaks was in possession of "political dynamite" that would "rock Hillary's campaign", and they would release it in late October.

I had no previous knowledge of the subject of the disclosures, although I've speculated that it would be related to the Clinton foundation. I've had no advance knowledge of the hacking of Podesta or anyone else. Nor do I believe that Assange is an agent of the Russians, a charge which is yet undocumented with proof and which he denies.

Just so I'm clear, it's your position that Podesta was tied to Russia, not the Trump campaign? And you had no inclination it would be the release of emails obtained by a Russian hacker? We know that Russia hacked Podesta in March 2016 and it was confirmed by the Intelligence Community.

    Let's look at the evidence:

    1. Paul Manafort was an operative working in Ukraine to install a pro-Russian government.

    2. You worked closely with Paul Manafort for years and own a lobbying firm with him in DC. Source 2

    3. Paul Manafort went missing for several weeks in 2010 (and 2014). This is the same year that the opposition research/dossier claims that Trump began to be cultivated by Moscow. You openly joked that Paul Manafort was kidnapped by the Russians. (See previous links)

    4. Donald Trump began his birtherism allegation in 2011.

    5. Russia hacked Podesta's email account on March 19, 2016.

    6. General Michael Flynn (~Summer 2016) and Carter Page (~March 2016) join the campaign. Both of them have ties to Russia.

    7. Cory Lewandowski was fired from Trump’s campaign. Paul Manafort took over. (June 20, 2016)

    8. Trump’s position on Russia changed, particularly as it relates to Ukraine. (~ July 18, 2016)

These are only some of the reasons that I have to say, respectfully, I don't believe you.

    Edit: Fixed some text.

Edit 2: And you were told that the "political dynamite" would be leaked in late October? The email leak was hours after the Access Hollywood video broke on October 7, 2016. This means the leak occurred ahead of schedule in order to brace the impact of the Access Hollywood video. I was already convinced this mess was motivated to help Donald Trump with the election. If it's possible to be even more convinced, this communication from you solidified that feeling for me. It wouldn't surprise me if you called your mutual friend on October 7th and asked for the leak to happen early.

It is absolutely laughable that you can criticize "Podesta's ties to the Russian mob" (source on this?) while completely ignoring Trump's ties to Russian banks and to Putin himself.

The connections in Steele Dossier shows that Trump's administration is being paid off by Rosneft and actively influenced (possibly blackmailed) by Putin. While there isn't any hard evidence yet outside of HUMINT, it's a lot more than you can offer against Podesta.

One only need to look of swarms of young Muslim men rampaging in Germany, France and Belgium, raping women and children, destroying public property, menacing citizens, defecating in public fountains and setting cars on fire to see the results of "Open Borders". While it is likely that the majority of Muslims who want to come to the U.S are decent peace loving people, it is not unreasonable to also assume that some sub of applicants (who are overwhelmingly young men) would in fact be terrorists. The President has made it clear that this "travel ban" of people from 7 countries (5 of which Obama bombed) would only be in place until we can implement a better and stronger process to examine and vet each applicant to weed out those with criminal records who are coming here with ill purposes. This is not bigotry, it is common sense.

One only need to look of swarms of young Muslim men

Might I ask where I can find these swarms?

While it is likely that the majority of Muslims who want to come to the U.S are decent peace loving people

What generous benefit of the doubt you are giving these people. You say it is likely that the majority of Muslims are decent people? Meaning in your mind close to half aren't? This isn't a matter of simple semantics. This is exactly the kind of bigoted mindset that will undermine our society. Imagine anyone in a serious position of power conceding that "a majority black people probably aren't criminals". Despicable.

it is not unreasonable to also assume that some sub of applicants ... would in fact be terrorists

It is also not unreasonable to assume that some of the applicants we get from England, France, Canada, or any other country in the world are going to commit crimes. Many have over the years. No immigrants from Trump's listed countries have committed terrorism here in decades. That is a pure hypothetical. Why should we not close immigration down entirely, if this is your standard for safety and vetting?

people from 7 countries (5 of which Obama bombed)

What is the relevance of this fact? What does bombing a part of a country have to do with accepting immigrants from it? How does that justify or reinforce anything you've said?

would only be in place until we can implement a better and stronger process to examine and vet each applicant

Is there anything at all concrete about this plan to "improve" our immigration system? Do you really think it is too easy to get into our country, and if so, what is your proof? Which terrorist immigrant could we have stopped in the past, and how? Do you understand why people are not satisfied with the answer "it's only temporary" when you provide no timetable and no concrete goal to reach?

weed out those with criminal records

As far as I'm aware all Visa applicants seeking U.S. immigration are required to submit criminal records and are subject to background checks. Is this not the case?

This is not bigotry, it is common sense.

You are surely aware that this line of thought has been delivered by every bigot in our country's history, correct?

    [–]AwkwardBurritoChick 159 ポイント160 ポイント  (0子コメント)

This is not bigotry, it is common sense.

It absolutely is bigotry. The people that have legal credentials to enter our country and are residents of this country became classified as enemy combatants and denied their civil rights with little to no proof, no incident or events to warrant a general blanket ban just because of a theory that "some may be nice; but otherwise they could in fact be terrorists" in the single stroke of a pen.

Seriously?! You think that is a common sense attitude, considering that ZERO people were killed by terrorists here in the US from the seven listed countries?

This Executive Order is in violation of the Constitution on several Amendments and clauses. Such as the right to due process; especially being innocent until proven guilty.

BTW, since you know Donald Trump so well, you may want to let him know that if something is deemed Unconstitutional, it means it's against everything that America is based on. Literally and metaphorically. "Unconstitutional = Unamerican" and to some, that is simply treason.

It may please the conservative constituents that you already commented that this White House Administration is upholding so close and dear, that it doesn't warrant crapping on the Civil Rights of thousands and millions of people just to please the conservatives because they can't get past their own bigotry and prejudice.

Edit to add the original context:

Now there is a real distortion of Donal Trumps views. One only need to look of swarms of young Muslim men rampaging in Germany, France and Belgium, raping women and children, destroying public property, menacing citizens, defecating in public fountains and setting cars on fire to see the results of "Open Borders". Common sense would've included terrorist-enabling Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on that list.

Common sense would've been telling the DHS about the executive order before implementing.

Common sense would've been addressing the potential Constitutional crisis before signing the document.

Common sense would've been expressing empathy for the Muslims murdered by a white supremacist Trump supporter mere miles from our border instead of expressing rage at a failed Islamist attack across the Atlantic Ocean.

Here's a better question, how do Trump's boots taste?

    [–]SteveGladstoneSteve Gladstone 135 ポイント136 ポイント  (1子コメント)

With respect, Roger, I think the same could be said of any immigrant or refugee from anywhere. It's the nature of humanity to possess the possibility of violence. Yet, even Bush took in refugees from Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Burma, DR Congo, and other areas that had been ravaged by violence and/or oppression.

In upholding the Constitution, we have to understand what it is we are trying to protect: humanity's unalienable Rights. The Declaration of Independence came first, sets the tone, and then our Constitution seeks (or should seek) to protect and maximize those Rights. They are God given, after all. That combined with our nation's view of innocence before guilt should be enough to welcome refugees and immigrants after vetting.

    • That you have to be a "killer" and relentless against any perceived slight?

    • truth can and should be controlled by repeating something enough, even if it is a lie

How are these useful in a functioning democracy? Should any of these beliefs be curtailed by those around him?

Have you advised Trump to attend intelligence briefings? We know he isn't. If you haven't, why not?

Why is he cozy with nations that are historically enemies with the US and cold with nations that are historically allies?

How will being anti-free trade and anti-new technology/green energy do anything to help the economy?

How is Rick Perry qualified for the position Trump wants him in? He is succeeding world class PhDs. Why the massive drop in qualifications?

How much policy comes from Steve Bannon?

Sean Spicer said that the Trump admin will focus on clean coal. Are you all aware that clean coal does not exist? If I am incorrect, can you direct me to the clean coal?

Sean Spicer today was asked about the plan Trump has for black Americans, excluding law and order. He answered with "jobs, healthcare, and law and order." Why are they seemingly unable to give any more meaningful answers here?

How could Trump rail against Hillary Clinton being in the pocket of Wallstreet then go on to pack his pockets with Goldman Sachs?

Why did Trump take to twitter to condemn the failed attack in France but has said nothing about the white supremacist attack against Muslims in Canada? All we heard was from Sean Spicer who said Trump called to express his condolences.

Why are republicans being so anti-transparent? For example, voting to hide the cost of ACA repeal.

When I look at Trump, I see the worst of humanity. I see a man that lies. I see a man who surrounds himself with incompetence at best, and saboteurs at worst. I see someone who will hurt me and my family while claiming to be my President. I experience a worse kind of fear and sense of danger than ISIS, 9/11, North Korea, or Russia ever could invoke. I see the holocaust documentaries I watched as a child. I hear the stories Elie Wiesel and my grandmother's neighbors shared with me. I see silence from conservatives in power who stand by and watch as a tyrant erodes the very foundations of post-WW2 diplomatic relations.

I do not feel safe. Not because of the economy. Not because of terrorism. Not because of gangs. I do not feel safe because of the president. I do not feel safe FROM the President. I do not feel loved. I do not feel tolerated. I do not feel welcome. I do not feel like I have any input. And I see no resolution short of my evacuation or annihilation.

    When was America last great?

    [–]Roger-StoneRoger Stone[S] -119 ポイント-118 ポイント  (49子コメント)

America's greatness was restored under President Ronald Reagan for a short moment. We had sustained economic prosperity and respect once again around the world. George Bush symbolically ended Reagan-ism when he violated his "no new taxes pledge". Since then the Globalist have eroded our economic standing, plunged us into evene deeper debt while sacrificing our jobs to foreging countries. The great irony of course is that the bushes and the Clintons and their clonies got richer while the american people got poorer. it will take an independent outsider to reverse this trend. Donald Trump has the courage, the leadership skills, and the vision to be a great President. There are many dangers ahead, but thanks to Donald Trump we already have averted to; the presidency of Jebb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Lowering taxes on the rich does not help the working class. Trickle down economics is a massive failure and has resulted in stagnating wages ever since Reagan.

How does taking away the ACA with ZERO replacement plan benefit working people? We need a system of Universal Healthcare in order to give equal access to all of our citizens, but of course we will never get that from Republicans.

How does spending $25 billion on a USELESS WALL give power back to the American People?

How does appointing one of the most ANTI-WORKER Labor Secretaries ever help the American middle and working class?

How does propping up DYING INDUSTRIES (coal) while dismantling efforts for renewable energies help the long-term prospects of our country?

Trump is going to set our country's middle and working class up for a massive failure while him and his cronies get rich.

    Hi Roger,

I think it's pretty well known that you're a fan of the Nixon administration, which was in turn known for their brand of game theory based international relations that might be summed up as 'mad man theory'. In this school of political philosophy, unpredicability is an asset rather than a flaw.

My question is: seeing that you've been such a long time confidant of President Trump, can you provide any insight into whether his particular style of communication is purposefully unpredictable, or is that just intrinsic to his personality? And do you view that unpredictability as one of his assets? How do you envision him wielding that particular trait?

    [–]Roger-StoneRoger Stone[S] -77 ポイント-76 ポイント  (45子コメント)

There is no question that Trump, like Nixon is a master negotiator. Both are tough and wily. They both understand that one must take on "poses" in skillful negotiations. From that point of view, Nixon understood it was crucial that there adversaries never really know or knew the extremes they are capable of. Like Nixon, Trump understands power and knows how to use it.

This is such garbage. To anyone in the real world, with real business experience, who engage in real negotiations and deal making, it is plainly obvious that the man is nothing more than a bullshit artist and a bully. His "negotiation" tactics (much like his "career") are bluster backed by family wealth, nothing more.

I don't claim to be a master business tactician or a guru in the art of negotiation, but I've spent my career seeing guys like Trump come from a mile away. If you think the leaders of his allies and enemies don't have his number already, then you're a bigger fool than he is.

an elected official who actually does what he was going to do in his campaign

    I'll give you that.

    On the other hand...

    • Dodd-Frank exists for a reason. The fact that Trump campaigned "for the little man" and is now giving the economy entirely back to his buddies, is shameful.
    • "Twittergate" is entirely of Trump's own doing. That you would insinuate "others" are wasting their time with it is confusing at best. As an adviser of his, aren't you concerned that the POTUS #1 can't seem to remain composed for more than several minutes at a time and #2 feels his own time is best spent blasting out nasty Tweets and #fakenews bologna

    • He may have made a big fuss about the ACA executive order he signed, but failed to mention to his supporters that it basically does nothing. It was merely political showmanship, and you know it.

    • America's infrastructure is pathetic and does need major and immediate attention, though Trump's plan doesn't quite add up.

I'm happy you seem pleased with Trump's first two weeks, but I'd wager you're in minority. What are your thoughts on him threatening to send American military into Mexico? How about his apparently ill-tempered phone call with Australia's PM? Any opinion on his cozy relationship with Putin/Russia? How about thoughts on the USD having its worst January in decades?

    [–]fernando-poo 72 ポイント73 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Out of the five things you listed, four of them didn't actually happen.

Obamacare hasn't been repealed -- in fact, Trump has still not released his own health care plan. Dodd-Frank hasn't been repealed.

Do you seriously believe Trump and the GOP Congress are going to restore Glass-Steagall? Where is the infrastructure plan?

Out of the things you mentioned, the travel ban is the only one that really happened, and it was rolled out so incompetently that it was criticized by essentially every U.S. ally, and even by Republicans, to the point where the Trump administration was forced to roll back part of the order.

    [–]JohnLayman 117 ポイント118 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Obamacare - Explain how no plan has been enacted to ensure the 20 million Americans who couldn't get healthcare will retain it.

Temporary ban - First, thank you for agreeing it's a "ban". Second, explain why Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been excluded.

Dodd-Frank & Glass-Steagel - Both have a verified history of encouraging corruption in the financial industry, how do you justify the repealing of one and restoration of the other?

    America awaits your answer.

    [–]VGtheory 361 ポイント362 ポイント  (11子コメント)

ACA was not repealed. Muslim Ban was a disaster and did not include countries that were the sources of succesful terrorist attacks on the US. Dodd-Frank repeal has yet to play out. Infrastructure plans disappeared once he started talking about the wall.

He and the republican party are now going to repeal healthcare reform, financial sector regulations, environmental safeguards, and implement a haphazard foreign policy. Incompetence is the word for that. Naivete/ignorance are the words for his campaign promises.

At what point do you intend to put country over ideology/party/personal loyalty and start opposing Trump?

In less than two weeks time, he has damaged long-standing alliances, undermined core American values, issued (most likely) unconstitutional executive orders, brought us closer to armed conflict with Iran, turned a complete blind eye to escalated Russian aggression in Ukraine, and spat in the face of century-old ethics and conflict of interest rules that all of our past Presidents (incl. Nixon!) have respected.

There's no universe where these actions can be defended as productive, meaningful, and benefiting of US interests. We've had impeachment hearings on multiple past presidents for doing far less than what Trump has in just 13 days in office. How would you justify Donald Trump's treatment towards women, Muslims, and other minorities? I was raised to believe that the only way we should judge others is by their character, level of compasion, moral qualities, ect. and that any other characteristic (sexuality, gender, skin color, religion) is superficial.

I always believed this to be common sense, and it does not make sense to me that the leader of a nation founded on tolerance, immigration, and religious freedom would not share this way of thinking.

My final question is one that I'm sure you can't answer with complete honesty but I will try anyways. Is Donald Trump really as unintelligent as I perceive him to be? I know there are different kinds of intelligence, but I honestly don't believe the man could pass a GED test. And, if so, what message would you like to send to the >50% of the country who feels like Trump not only fails to represent their interests, but is actively dismantling the very core of the democratic process (obstructionism, spreading propaganda, consolidating power) to work against them?

Given all the political polarization and high tensions now, where do you see the country socially and politically in 10 years? Do you think the election of Donald J Trump exacerbated an already existing problem or do you think he will bring people together (as he claims)?

What are your opinions on Alex Jones? He seemed to have roped you into a meeting with the Young Turks guys, which escalated pretty quickly. As a long-time listener to Alex Jones, I'm always pretty baffled by his outlandish claims, including:

    1) Comcast contractor/technicians being secret government spyops to surveil the general public.

    2) Corn crops being infected with HIV.

    3) Using fluoride as some sort of mind-control device.

    4) The government using a weather-control device to bring about the Haitian earthquake that devastated so many.

In light of these claims (which, mind you, are but a few), what is your perspective on the credibility and journalistic integrity of infowars and Alex Jones?

I am just going to say the following since from the looks of it, you will dodge the hard questions. The Trump candidacy has proven in just 1 week that it will be scrutinized even harder than the G.W Bush administration. The world is baffled on how the stereotype of American disinterest/ignorance of the world's opinion/customs was reinforced on this election. But I understand why it all happened. It is because of the disconnect your society has between rural and urban citizens. A system that favors rural values even though they are not the majority and that slowly is being diminished due to advances in technology, social and global trends. Trump is just the summation of the fears of that sector of your society amplified. Your society is divided and I believe it will be further divided even more the coming years.

My question is, as a political insider, how can you amend the divisions between rural and urban? The American Coasts vs the Heartland.

    With Love and deep concern,

Steve Bannon told Vanity Fair after taking over Trump's campaign that Trump is a "blunt instrument for us...I don’t know whether he really gets it or not.”

From this it seems like Bannon is really setting the agenda, and Trump's outbursts are sometimes on-strategy, sometimes just the result of impulsiveness, and they derail Bannon's strategy. What would you say about this?

Trump said in a 2015 interview that he met Vladimir Putin, but now is saying he never had before. Trump said in Dec 2015 that he would enact a Muslim Ban if he became president and he made this very publically known, now he is saying that the executive order temporarily banning many Muslim majority countries was not a ban. How do you feel about either of these situations, or both? Can you offer insight into what Trump's major goals as president are?

Trump won the election. In many different countries around the world (staunch allies to the US) this is only the start. Because many people voted who wanted something else.

In the case of the US, over 65 million people voted for something - and someone - else. Someone with very, very different ideas about the future of America.

A President is there to serve his people. All of his people, as much as this is possible. This is one of the hardest parts of being a true leader.

My question: What active steps do you - as advisor to the President - take to actively remind yourself of this fact, every single day?

When can we expect to "take the oil" from the countries we are going to invade? Why isn't Trump addressing his neo-nazi followers who are in some cases murdering people? Why can't Trump handle a simple phone call to Australian PM without fucking it up?

Roger, I've gotten used to hearing your voice on Morning joe over the last year or so. I appreciate the opportunity to ask you a question regarding Trump's stance on healthcare.

As a low income american I am one of the 20 million who benefits from the ACA's subsidy. Without that subsidy which brings my monthly healthcare bill from around $350 a month down to around $110 I honestly can not afford the premiums. I wonder if you have any insight on how Trump's new healthcare plan/alternative will account for the 20 million people like me?
