BioWare has confirmed Peebee, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Asari squadmate, will be a romance option for at least one of the Ryder twins.
Mass Effect: Andromeda producer Michael Gamble confirmed the news on Twitter after Peebee voice actress Christine Lakin referenced the character's ability to "fall in love" in the video below. Since romance options will vary depending on your character, it's unclear whether Peebee will be a romance option for both Scott and Sara Ryder.
In the video, Lakin gives further insight into her Asari character, calling Peebee impulsive, quirky, and goofy.
BioWare is aiming for less formulaic relationships with Mass Effect: Andromeda, according to the series' creative director, Mac Walters.
"In the original trilogy, they often were, you do a couple conversations with them and then it's getting close to the end, it's time to romance," he said. "What I wanted to see in this was more of a, well, somebody might want to hop in the sack right away, [or] somebody might never want to hop in the sack because this is too important — trying to find that more natural way into what a relationship would be like within the constraints of game development. We're trying to make it as open ended as possible."
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21 in North America and on March 23 in Europe. For more, including other confirmed romance options, head over to IGN's Mass Effect: Andromeda wiki.
