- Thanks to r/GunsAreCool for the stats
- Mass shooting - 4 or more people killed or injured per event
- Trump and the Republicans have been screaming about how US Mexican Border is vulnerable to Terrorist Crossing Illegally (NOT). This has been a major point on Fox News since it 9/11.
When the Report was Published, Faux News headlines said, "Claims 'no refugees' since 9/11 took part in terror plots ring false."
First the Cato Report is the number of Americans Killed NOT Attempted Attacks. Since they can't Dispute the Report they have to spin it. Of all 154 foreign-born terrorists analyzed, 114 did not murder anyone in a terrorist attack. There was an attack by a Somali Refugee in November 2016 that injured 9 people as well.
Foreign-Born Terrorists and Murders Before and After 9-11
Pre 9-11 - 17 Deaths by 16 Terrorists
Post 9-11- 24 Deaths by 5 Terrorists
This is Politofact Review of the statement U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu Statement, "The Chances of being killed by a refugee committing a terrorist act is 1 in 3.6 Billion." Politofact rated it mostly true, but said "it’s important to clarify, that its study examined terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, something Lieu does not explicitly state.". When comparing it with the Refugee and Immigrant Ban it is Valid and True in this instance.
Refugees are not the same as migrants.
Refugees go through rigorous background checks.

Excerpt
You start out in 1954 by saying, “N..ger, n..ger, n..ger.” By 1968 you can’t say “n..ger”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.”
