So after a crazy 3 months I am back on Free Talk Friday duty as life seems to have gotten back to normal. At the end of November I was let go from my job but given 3 months wages upfront until I got a new job. I spent 4 weeks playing Fifa all day and seeing my friends at night. I've now managed to get myself a new job with more money, promotion to a higher role and given my own company car.

Really happy at this moment in time although Man Utd seem to be disappointing me a bit like the rest of this sub.

Happy Friday guys

Nice! What car did you get?

Mercedes A Class 180d :)

Nice! How is it? As a non-car owner, I always get a spike of jealousy envy when someone gets a nice car.

I haven't actually got it yet, I've ordered it from the company plant hire and should be getting it this month.

Playing Shadow of mordor, 3 more achievements for the platinum. Enjoyable game

I could never get into that game, found it too open world if you know what I mean. Like not enough direction at the start.

Yeah it's a bit all over the place but jfc the combat is so much fun. I would play for hours just running around fighting hoards of orcs. Need to finish the DLC actually.

Not OP, but think I'm going to give that game another go. I remember I got stuck on one of the assassination things and just gave up.

Passed PwC's online assessment stage for their vacation scheme for their legal department. Only 3 more stages to pass over the next 2 months to try to get on their 3 week long vacation scheme.

Seems a bit much!

Not to be a downer but doesn't everyone who applies have to do the online assessment? I applied to the big four pro services firms and did the online stage for all of them, eventually ended up working for Deloitte but literally did the online maths/english/logic tests for every one of them.

Yeah I think they do but I don't know how many pass the online assessment. I don't even know what their criteria for passing is and I don't know whether doing so means my application is in the next stage or whether it simply means my application is actually being looked at by someone.

There are some parts of the firm where you can go in without the graduate intake/online test stuff. I went straight into EY after two interviews only. It was for a very specific technical role though.

Moved to my own place with my 8 year old son last Saturday. Things are going to be good some day I guess but right now the kid misses his dad and is acting like a little shit every day.

We see his dad often though. Yesterday the 3 of us went to McDonald's together and couple of days ago the dad visited us in our new home. But still it must be hard for the kid to not see him every day like he used to.

I'm doing okay although bit lonely sometimes. I guess divorce is hardest on the kid who had no say in this! His life was turned upside down and he didn't want any of this. (Which is why we, his parents, are trying to make things as easy as possible by not fighting about anything.)

Hey! You sound like a great parent. Your kid will be fine :)

One day he'll understand that this was the right decision at the time and he'll appreciate everything that you have done for him as a kid.

Wishing you both the strength to go through this and happiness that you seek.

[–]MrsAgathaKing Eric 0

Thank you! <3

I think he already sort of gets why we had to move (he knows me and his dad were always shouting at each otger especially about politics) but he just didn't realise how living away from his dad would feel. I try to talk to him about things as much as I can to help him feel better.

P.S. Just waiting near my kids school for my kid to come so we can go buy food together and some older woman thought I go to this school. I'm 36 and the oldest people in this school are 16. :D

So, I was supposed to go to this party with my gf on the same night we played Hull, but decided not to and stay at home & watch the game. Bought meself chocolate milk and chocolate chip cookies and all... That didn't go well... On top of that hurt my lower back at the gym.

Gonna hit some mountains over the weekend. All these people I'm gonna be with are learning to snowboard, ski and shit. And I'm just gonna stand there on the side in my jeans and regular boots and sore back because I don't have any waterproof clothes or footwear. Gonna be fun.

It's the first time I've given up on a friendship, & it hurts so badly. At the same time I feel relieved, a huge weight off my shoulders. i've spent the last 5 months exhausting every thought and avenue in trying to mend things between us but sadly it was not to be.

"My problem", was her answer when I asked her not to hold on to her hate and hurt. "I never asked you to." was her answer when I told her she was still my best friend and that I cared about her. Typing 'cared' in the past tense hurts haha.

I guess I just want to ask how you guys move on?

I'm so sorry Y. so sorry I couldn't mend and restore things, and so sorry for all the hurt that we have given and received from each other. I've tried really really really hard.

thanks for reading.

Also, westworld is fucking amazing.

Keep busy, don't text or call her when you're drunk, get big.

Time is the answer. It's been 8 months since this happened to me and it went in stages for me. First sadness, then anger, then bitterness -- but now, it's in the past. I can't conjure up the same feelings anymore because I've thought all there is to think about it and it's just over now.

Time mends things. Don't be sorry. You were the bigger person here trying to mend things, you are in the right at this moment in time. There are much nicer people out there who are more transparent than this girl.

Also, don't text her anymore. Not at all. Not when you are feeling lonely, not when there's some emotional music playing and you think the moment's right to 'talk things out.' No. Sometimes there is no talking things out. Sometimes, things just don't get resolved, and that's life. Put an elastic band around your wrist and snap it every time you think about her. That will train your mind to snap out of it. PM me if you want to talk.

Flew over from Norway to New York last week and randomly partook in that anti-Trump protest as an impartial piece of Eurotrash. It was interesting to say the least.

Also tattooed my calf while I was there. It turned out pretty well.

Don't rush to conclusions! People are busy sometimes. There have been times I have recieved a message and purposely left it because I just don't have the time at that moment to deal with it. I don't dislike the person who sent the message at all, but I just need time to get to it.

Also, don't dwell on it. Don't sit looking at the 'Active Now' words if this is on facebook. That is letting yourself into a bad time, an obsessed time. Throw your phone from you. Turn it off if need be. Become busy yourself.

If you never get an answer, you have your answer.

Experimenting with Bulletproof Coffee and loving that buttery taste. It's sort of working out as a meal replacement for breakfast, but I'm not really seeing the full benefits of it as I'm still nomming down carbs.

Going to lean towards high fat and protein - does one cancel the other out? i.e if I eat lots of bacon, sausages and a brownie whey protein mix (I don't exercise so I don't know if that's just plain dumb) do you reckon that's safe enough to follow? I panic when it comes to body decisions :D

I've been doing keto for about a month now - it's been going great, but figuring out the macros was hard. Protein wise, /r/keto etc have a really good FAQ to make sure you don't under or over do it. Fat just needs to be eaten to satiation. I've lost like 8kgs so far this month (I assume most of it water, but it's still amazing to see the scale drop). Good luck!

[–]craptionbotMarouane "Imma fuck you up" Fellaini

Oh NICE! Great work man! Yeah my problem is I don't think I can maintain keto (or more specifically the state of ketosis) although it really appeals to me as it seems to unlock some sort of higher state of performance in clarity of thinking etc. How did you find the transition period? Any bad side effects initially?

I only had one day of "ketoflu" - and it was actually my fault, I normally work from home and so I had thought I'd stick to having enough salt etc without issue. However the day after starting keto, i was called into the city for some work and I completely forgot to have enough salt and gave myself a headache for the day!

Apart from that, getting used to it was much easier than I had imagined - mainly because I always felt full. I also did a bulletproof coffee in the mornings (with some of this MCT oil), and then a large lunch, and chicken + steamed veg for dinner. I used myfitnesspal to make sure I stuck to my goal calories (I'm very overweight so my current limit is 1300 cals). However I still find it hard to eat that much some days.

I don't do cheat days etc, because it then takes another 2-3 days to get back into Ketosis, which is just time lost. My thinking is that I've had enough "cheat days" in my life already, so this year is about focusing on losing weight and gaining muscle, then I can slowly bring back carbs etc into my diet!

I really think it's worth sticking to it, and the initial struggle of "what to eat?" "how much to eat?" etc is worth it - good luck!

I tried it and failed miserably. I just love carbs too much. Gonna bulk for a few months then use keto to get me slim and trim for summer.

Good luck with your gains man. I'm 1 year in and the difference is huge. Make sure to get the right amount of protein in your diet or you'll still be sore, and you won't grow as much.

Which one do you use? any chance you could show me the difference through a photo?

Most protein supplements will do you well. Protein powders to make shakes are a very good source, you can have 2-3 a day and really aid your recovery and growth. But don't get in the routine of thinking just cause you drink protein that your meals can be shit. Wrong! Diet is by far the most important aspect of building muscle. You could go to the gym every day, smash workouts, but if your diet is shit you won't reap the benefits.

I don't have progress photos, I kinda wish i had a 'before' pic to see exaclty how far i've come. Basically I was just super skinny, and now every part of my upper body has filled out and has definition and mass, legs are bigger and i'm significantly stronger.
