The parable of the male, feminist ally exposed as a sexual predator is a tale as old as the internet itself. Like the megachurch pastor coming out as gay or the family values politician cheating on his wife, these stories expose the hypocrisy of ideological zealots.

Tumblr is the perfect cesspool to breed these types of cases. The site combines the cutting edge in social justice neuroses with an undercurrent of bizarre sexual fetishization, where users engage in both, separately or intertwined together.

In this setting rose to prominence the power user Memeufacturing, who goes by the name August. August is biologically male but uses the protest they/them and considers themself gender nonbinary.

They were a mainstay on Tumblr, with jokes and memes shared throughout the site. The common form below would be pretending to be some typer of person and creating a humorous scenario.

They were also so woke they don’t care when cops are killed.

But the facade of socially just rhetoric could not protect August against a blacklash when they were outed as a sexual harasser with “problematic” fetishes.

In a long Tumblr post, a user named finalfantasyvii called August out and alleged they were responsible for soliciting nudes from other users and harboring attractions to underage transexual boys. The post also accused them of using toxic and abusive tactics to manipulate people like threatening suicide.

The most concerning fetish listed was August’s obsession with unconscious people. The call-out post contains a series of direct message between August and other Tumblr users with a recurring theme: A desire to have a motionless, malleable partner.

“It’s not really about the timestop though I just in general get turned on by a partner that’s unconscious but it’s even hotter when that partner happens to be more like a living sex toy for me to manipulate their body but y’know I’ll go for anything really,” August wrote.

They also expressed interest in seeing their lover encased in ice or to be turned into a “real life doll.”

“Now theoretically if I could inject something into your neck right now that’d turn into a true-to-life doll that would never require food or water or anything + you would not be conscious unless I let you be conscious, would you take the offer,” August said to a young Tumblr user.

The post calling August out on their perversions went viral on Tumblr receiving over 12,000 notes (likes). Soon after August deleted their Tumblr and wiped all the posts.

Before they deleted their account entirely they put up a brief message and even reblogged the post calling them out for being a creepy perv.

This isn’t the first time a prominent Tumblr user self banished themselves from the site after being called out on sex allegations. In 2014, the user, monetizeyourcat, was driven from the site for similar behavior, sparking a long saga of internet drama.

While the post about August is certainly creepy, there is no smoking gun of sexual harassment. All the conversations soliciting nudes were consensual and the creepy doll fetish talk seemed to be reciprocated by the person on the other end.

But apparently when the Tumblr community gets a whiff of toxic abuse they tend to clean house, despite allowing shippers to harass fan artists and celebrities on a regular basis.
