Being a United fan is complicated at the moment. I'm not entirely sure what's going on with our team but it just isn't gelling. Man United has this really strange situation that keeps happening which I don't really see at other clubs:
We sign a player for a lot of money expecting him to make a big difference
Fans get excited
He underperforms
We all sit around wondering when we're going to get the player we paid for
Falcao, Depay, Di Maria, Pogba, Martial, all players I was personally very excited to see, yet all examples of this.
In fact, the only big name we've signed that's actually done what we brought him in to do is Ibra and we got him for free! That's so true when you actually think about it. Think of the money we've spent. It's mind-blowing. Why are players with so much potential coming to Old Trafford and failing?
I'm also sick of seeing this sideways football. All we do is pick the ball up 40 yards out and make easy passes left and right all afternoon. There's no risk taking, the play isn't direct, there's absolutely no off the ball movement and our players give each other a total lack of options. Am I the only one seeing this? It's so frustrating. I'm not trashing United in general, we have so many players that I think are great. It's just a shame to see the tactics we're going with.
Also, when is Pogba going to start performing? I know he didn't ask to be worth £90M, but maybe if he didn't spend all his time getting haircuts and dancing like a twat he'd actually justify some of that price tag. He's been more of a liability than anything. Faffing around with it in midfield trying to do some fancy skill move isn't going to cut it at a club like this my friend.
I think Rashford is absolutely quality and I'm very excited to see him be a pillar of this club in years to come. Some of the other lads could learn a thing or two from him. He's young, hungry, always moving forward, confidence, risk taking, conducts himself with dignity and represents the club well wherever he goes - that's what United should be. Pogba and Lingard dabbing and pissing around is embarrassing and has no place at United - if we lost Sir. Alex he'd be turning in his grave.
Overall, I think we have some tremendous players who I would consider real 'United' players. Mata, Valencia, Carrick, Rashford, Shaw, Rooney, etc. These players go out there, perform at a high level, conduct themselves with dignity and sportsmanship as Man United players should, and get their job done. Lingard for me has no place at the club. I think we need to see some of that classic in-game management from Jose like he did at Chelsea. Prime example right, Pogba. I understand he was £90M and I understand he needs game-time to improve, but when we have an amazing opportunity to make up points in the league with a streak of easy games, there's absolutely no reason why we should keep him on the field over anyone else if he isn't performing. I'm sorry but against Hull he was absolutely diabolical and I don't give a shit if he's worth 90 million or 900 million, take him off. He's had moments of class here and there but overall, someone for the life of me tell me what he's done to justify anywhere near that price tag. I think we've all been expecting more and he just isn't delivering. I would've taken Fellaini over him in the second half of that Hull game.
