Because Pogba is walking around the field, so Rojo ends up doing his job by running foward with the ball, ofc his end product wont be as good.

Pretty poor from us so far really. Started slow and created very little really. This team lacks someone to really run at defenders like a Hazard, Son or Alexis.

Zlatan has been awful so far, he loses the ball everytime he has it and he isn't even winning the aerial duels that he should. Not to mention that several times his lack of pace has cost us chances.

Pogba has been a passenger bar one or two cross field balls. Other than that he has been pretty non existant and he needs to get involved a lot more.

Rashford has been rusty too, he runs at players but he doesn't have the same ability to deliver a killer ball or beat a man that Martial can have on his day.

Big up Phil Jones and Hererra though, Ander has been pressing out of his skin and winning the ball back and has been probably the best in buildup too with some quick passes, Jones has won everything and has been charging in to win the ball back all over the shop

Mata and Martial could change the game really. In a way it just feels kinda shit to have performances like this, at least under LVG we could say "OH its ok, Jose is coming!" At the minute it just feels kinda...sad.

Not that poor tbh. We were moving the ball around pretty quick and linking up pretty well. However, we failed with the final pass way too often.

Zlatan, although not at his best today, created our best two chances today and was involved in the other one where he didn't hit the shot with much power.

Pogba has been certainly been disappointing though.

Jones and Herrera have been good even though the latter has been erratic with his passing. But I think that's more to do with the kind of the passes he attempts and the risks involved with them.

Said it in the match thread during that first half but we're pushing far too much for the passes at the moment. If the pass isn't on then fine, be patient and keep the ball moving around until that killer final ball is on. At the moment they're trying to hit the pass anyway and it's just going straight to the opposition.

On another note, none of the players seem on the same page at all. They change their runs just after the ball is played to their original spots etc

Well that's why it always was, and still is, moronic to expect Mou to have come in and magically turn us into the United of old again. The signs for improvement are clearly there, we've started to get better results in addition to better football, and Mou's even started to rotate the squad more and play more youth.

Haven't watched the entire match but just wanted to say that it's good Jose has found a role for Carrick, I remember a lot of people were saying it's time to replace him earlier, but he's fit in well between the CBs and he's up to 50 out of 53 passes today, with many of those passes coming out of our own end. We could be doing better but he's not one of the ones to blame. He's also 33 for 33 in passes from the middle third.

He is never in the freaking box though, he is always doing silly passes in midfield that very rarely lead to anything substantial. Yes all top strikers end up drifting into midfield at some point, but this guy does it all the time and it's annoying and unnecessary imo.

We have Carrick and Pogba and Henrik in midfield who can pick out passes, he needs to stay in the box more often.

Rashford should come off, that's 2+hours he has played vs Meyler at RB and he has rarely troubled him.

His running off the ball has been good, but unfortunately, no one is picking him up. But on the ball for the past two games he has not been good enough. Time to give Martial a chance.

Ibra and Rashford have been complete rubbish, non-league level. Why Rashford keeps getting chances on the wing from the start baffles me, he's shown he's not up scratch a million times. He's good off the bench when the right back is knackered to fuck.

Ibra looks tired and half dead. I said a million times we can't go with one 35 year old striker and a kid but here we are, and this is just the start. Sure we might win this, but I don't see us finishing the year strongly with the amount of games we have coming up, something has to give.
