I've been pondering this idea ever since reading the writings of Rookh Kshatriya (http://kshatriya-anglobitch.blogspot.com/), particularly his book "Havok." MGTOW and the manosphere in general seem to be largely Anglo-American phenomena resulting from the secular man-hating neo-Puritanism of the Anglo-American world.
I cannot think of any philosophy like MGTOW outside the Anglo-American world. The closest one would be the herbivore men thing in Japan, but that is fundamentally different from MGTOW. The herbivore men are just choosing to live life the way they want to and that's that. MGTOW, on the other hand, are essentially committing religious apostasy in a society that worships women. Basically, MGTOW are refusing to stay in the cult of woman-worship that characterizes the Anglo-American world. This reality gives MGTOW a "stay on your toes" character that is generally lacking in the more relaxed philosophy of herbivore men.
