I have been saying that #TheRegime's big overarching play right now is de-fanging the judiciary, sidelining it, making it subservient.
-
-
-
Now, if objecting to this gets any traction,
#TheRegime's talking point will be that the Marshals have always been part of DOJ, under exec. -
Which is *true enough* but beside the point. They are the enforcement arm of the judiciary, grouped under executive because enforcement.
-
The impartiality of the law enforcement bodies under DOJ (FBI, Marshal Service) is supposed to be--must be--sacrosanct. Sacred. Untouchable.
-
Making the judiciary's enforcement wing under the direct command of a handpicked crony AG accomplishes makes the entire judicial branch moot
-
With the Marshals marching to the president's orders, court decisions only matter when
#TheRegime agrees with them. -
Now, presidents have given orders to the Marshals before.
#TheRegime will invoke this as an attempt at precedent. -
But that was for things like bringing state officials in compliance with federal court orders, not to prevent compliance with such.

@alexandraerin I've been seeing this on twitter, but is it confirmed? -
@ms_sharims "Confirmed" is tricky right now. Things happening faster than the news, administration isn't being honest. I rate it "plausible" -
@alexandraerin Thank you. Your threads are super informative, btw.

@alexandraerin@BondageLand the USMS falls under administrative control of the DoJ, which is part of the excutive branch, not the judicial. -
@teeohdoubleoh@BondageLand Yes. Because they're an enforcement/police agency. But go look up what their mission and purpose is. - さらに表示

@alexandraerin Good Germans. Trump is priming the pump for lots of Good Germans "just following orders." -
@Tristanshouts it's my understanding that good Germans refers more to the citizens who refused to believe the evil was happening. -
.
@ChrisAndersen "Good Germans" claimed no moral responsibility for either "just following orders" or for ignoring unfolding tragedy. -
@Tristanshouts I'm not sure it applies to both, but it doesn't matter. The "it can't be that bad" crowd are actually bigger danger now.
