I was one of those who didn't take Trump seriously. I didn't take the blatant rise of fascism seriously either. I didn't even vote. I figured my state was blue so I didn't need to do anything.

Now I'm afraid of what's happening, and I feel some responsibility .

Due to me, and people like me, being apathetic our country is headed in very dangerous direction.

What can I do now to help fix this? I don't want to look back on this and regret not taking action. I can no longer stand by. It's time to take a side.

Vote in the midterm elections in 2018. All House seats will be open, as well as 33 seats in the Senate.

Mostly democratics seats in the Senate though, every vote needed to defend.

I'm afraid of what's happening too. At least you didn't vote for trump though, but it would've been nice if you voted for Hillary or someone other than trump, it's okay though. I don't know anything we can do, although we are able to do one thing and survive. We need to survive and help each other from Trump's bullshit.

I never thought that Trump would be a good president, but I definitely laughed at his ridiculous antics, and thought the memes were funny. On election night I was expecting a landslide win for Clinton. I still can't believe it happened.

I guess enough people thought like me and didn't take action.

I watched the election results LIVE and it had very suspicious statics that the election was rigged.

You are responsible. Never forget that, because the choice was clear, whether you particularly liked Hillary or not. Trump had to be stopped and you chose not to.

That being said, let that motivate you to never make the same mistake again. If there is ever another election in your lifetime (if Trump doesn't manage to cancel them "until we can figure out what is going on with this voter fraud thing"), then get out and vote.

I know this sounds condescending as fuck, but it has to be said to drive the point home.

Yes, that's why I said I was responsible. Due to the electoral college and my state voting blue I didn't feel my vote had much sway. What I regret more than not voting is not actively working against Trump.

Here's what you do:

Call your Congressional rep and Senators often - one issue each call. Many others are, so keep the pressure on.

March in the next protest. More voices put more pressure on Trump.

Vote straight ticket Democrat in 2018. The Republicans allowed this, and shouldn't get anyone's vote til they return to reality.

I'm glad, by the way, that you realized your mistake and are looking to get involved. Awesome!

Don't feel too bad. I voted, but sometimes I wonder if I should have bothered at all. My vote was just a red fart in a blue hurricane in my state. So why vote? There was no point. So I can sleep an night? So I get a warm fuzzy knowing I helped him lose the popular vote. But I voiced my opinion that's all that matters, I guess.
