21st Century Fox chiefs James and Lachlan Murdoch are speaking out against President Trump's executive order temporarily banning citizens of seven predominately Muslim nations from coming into the U.S. for 90 days and putting on hold the Syrian refugee program indefinitely.
"21st Century Fox is a global company, proudly headquartered in the U.S., founded by -- and comprising at all levels of the business – immigrants," the sons of 21st Century Fox and Fox News Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch wrote in an internal staff memo. "We deeply value diversity and believe immigration is an essential part of America’s strength."
Fox owns television channels and other businesses in the Middle East and Africa. It is not known how many 21st Century employees are affected by the order, which was signed by Trump on Friday.
21st Century Fox -- which generated more than $27 billion in revenue in 2016 -- was built by the Australian-born Rupert Murdoch.
James and Lachlan Murdoch are co-chairmen and CEO of 21st Century Fox, respectively.
