Trump Bans Pokémon From Travelling to US From 7 Countries
Before saying it's not a Pokémon ban
Trump issued a written statement from the Trump House banning Pokémon from travelling to the US from 7 counties. But the US president then stunned the world by saying the ban on Pokémon wasn't actually a ban on Pokémon.
"To be clear, this is not a Pokémon ban, as the media is falsely reporting. This is not about Pokémon — this is about terror and keeping our country safe," Trump said at the press event.
"America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave," Trumpsaid after a marathon binge session streaming every John Wayne Western on Netflix.
He added that more than 40 Pokémon countries weren't banned but that just highlighted confusion in the many Pokémon communities - as well as worldwide anger. While there are 801 different Pokémon species in total, it's the 18 types of Pokémon Go characters who'll be affected most because their jobs require constant travel.
We interviewed Squirtle, a Pure Single Water-type Pokémon who was refused entry to the US and deported:|
"I was due to appear near Lake Michigan yesterday and flew in on American Airlines. But I had my passport taken away by US immigration officers before being deported back to Pokémon land."
But while Squirtle and all Water-type Pokémon were immediately suspended from travelling to the US, JigglyPuffs were still allowed to travel. JigglyPuffs are dual Normal/Fairy-types and come from mineral-rich lands that power US infrastructure, bringing billions to the American economy.
