Michael Flynn, Jr., the son of White House national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn, has deleted his Twitter account after repeatedly using the controversial hashtag #MuslimBan to promote President Trump recent executive order restriction immigration from certain Muslim-majority nations.

While many of Trump’s critics have described the new policy as a “Muslim ban,” supporters of the policy have pushed back, noting that only applies to certain countries. So Trump opponents were quick to notice when Flynn, Jr., seemed to embrace the term “Muslim ban” on social media.

“Temporary #MuslimBan necessary folks,” he wrote on Twitter. Flynn, Jr., also dismissed critics citing the inscription at the base of the Statue of Liberty, which reads in part, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” The younger Flynn fired back: “It’s OUR time as Americans to BREATHE FREE! WE’RE TIRED!”

It’s not the first time Flynn, Jr., has caused controversy on Twitter. He was fired from the Trump transition team after promoting the unsubstantiated conspiracy theory known as “Pizzagate,” which hypothesized that high-profile Democrats were running a secret child sex-trafficking ring out of a Washington D.C. pizza parlor and dabbling in Satanism.

“I want him fired immediately,” Trump said, according to the New York Times. The Pizzagate incident reportedly drove a wedge between Trump and Gen. Flynn, whose influence within the Trump inner circle has waned considerably. The general is no stranger to controversy himself. Flynn drew the ire of many in the media during the campaign by leading chants of “Lock her up!” at Trump rallies.
