Eric Bailly makes Reserves comeback

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly will make his first appearance for the club in 2017 when the Reserves take on Everton in Premier League 2 tonight, live on MUTV.

The centre-back has been away with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations but returned to the Aon Training Complex following the holders' surprise exit in the group stages.

Bailly will attempt to regain his match rhythm and is likely to be extended against the leaders in the division, who expect to hand Anton Donkor, a new recruit from Wolfsburg, his debut. Hopefully, the Reds' African star will prove his fitness ahead of another busy spell for Jose Mourinho's men, with the visit of Hull City on Wednesday followed by a trip to champions Leicester City at the weekend.

Interim coach Nicky Butt is without Ro-Shaun Williams due to a knee injury but Joel Castro Pereira and Axel Tuanzebe, who made their first-team debuts against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday, are available and both start.

United: J.Pereira, Olosunde, Tuanzebe, Bailly, Mitchell, Scott, Kehinde, Gribbin, Redmond, Harrop, McTominay. Subs: O’Hara, El Fitouri, Warren, Buffonge, Hamilton.
