Exactly, he's come under some pretty unfair criticism over the years. He's done pretty well with his time with us considering he has played the majority of his games for us out of position. Sadly for him we've had many players who can play in behind the striker, so he's hardly had a look in in that position despite always coming up with some important goals for us when he does play there.

Shaw hasn't been shockingly bad, he's had a few bad moments but he's had a few good ones though. Martial looks horribly out of position on top of playing against a team that's going to keep flooding him all game. It wouldnt be fair to drop him. Because of the score they should open up more in the second half and Martial should play a lot better

Why if Fellaini is going to play does he not play further forward than he generally has. When in the #10 kind of positions he is a real threat (as shown by the goal), when he is playing more as a standard (or defensive) midfielder he is a total liability and actually does more harm than good when it comes to team fluidity

To me it seems that you can get away with fielding one player like Schweinsteiger. But now we have too many people who don't look for depth and don't try to go forward. Only Shaw does it and unfortunately he's not being very good at it at the moment.

If you have one player like Schweinsteiger, you can just give him the ball and he will make sure it find a man, and this creates space and calm. Now what happens is Schweinsteiger passes it to his left and then he gets it back, and he passes it back andsoforth. Not really anyone trying to risk too much in attempting to make something happen.

Which is perfectly fine in these kind of games but not very exciting to watch.

He's only had two misplaced passes. His vision to pick out Shaw and Martial has been terrific. He's controlled the game completely.

Common give Fellaini more credit than that, very few players would score that goal, he still had to fight for the ball without fouling the defender, we all know the refs are quick to blow against him due to his size. If anything Fosu Mensa's cross was even better cause it beat all the defenders

I'd enjoy it more if the BBC commentators would shut up with their horrendous bias.

The first five minutes, they yaddered on about the 'pressure' on Martial, and how this game was a chance to 'prove himself to Mourinho' and how both Martial and Shaw were out of favour, having fallen out with Mourinho way back when we played Watford, and so much other bullshit.

Then around 10-15 minutes in they're off on about Fosu-Mensah and how the 'the new regime is limiting his chances', nice little dig at Mourinho there.

Then we're down to basically "I have no idea about football, but I got this job because I talk shit" when Fellaini scored and it's all "United with all their intricite passing, but they've thrown it on his head for the goal! Whew, lad!" as if one passage of play basically nullified the entire game plan of United, almost teasingly inviting the viewing to believe we should be punting the ball into the East Wind a la Klopp for the next 45 minutes.

Who are they? O_o They're basically spouting off Sky Sources lines all fucking day. =/

    Schweinsteiger started off a bit shaky, it's obvious his confidence has taken a dip. Hopefully that marvellous assist does him some good both for his confidence and his position in the pecking order.
