On the one hand, I agree that it's really stupid, on the other hand, tech and experiences (travel, restaurants, etc.) have at least replaced the old status symbols among millennials (jewelry, cars, etc.) which I think is good. Although it's probably more influenced by wanting to post those experiences on social media (snapchat, instagram, facebook) than about learning about other cultures and the world.

Just playing the devils advocate, but while they're fine, what he's betting is that they wont make as much in earnings. I kind of believe this, Apple is great, and they'll be a powerhouse for a while, but I don't think they're quite so much of a powerhouse as they were before.

It doesn't matter, it is all about the expectations of the market. The market appears to be expecting pretty flat/weak earnings so odds are it won't move much at all, or there might even be an upside surprise.

Anything is possible, although it has been reported that iPhone sales have been dwindling due to competition simply having better products at equal or lower prices. I don't have any money riding on it but I think they will have poor earnings and take a hit on the stock price.

Samsung is much, much more than a tech company. Samsung makes everything from microwaves to tanks. Google it. Their phone sales might have been lower but their tank sales might have covered for it.

I am aware that they have many products, fortunately when you invest in a company, you invest in all of it and not just one portion. Samsung was not hurt by the Note issues and their diversification can help them in trying times. When apples cash cow, the iPhone is hurting, that won't bode well for their stock price

    It doesn't take much power to charge up a phone anyway. Even with half the efficiency vs wired charging you're not paying more than a few dollars over the lifetime of your phone in electricity bill extra.

    It's not. The S7 has NFC and MST (magnetic secure transmission) payments. The iPhone 7 only has NFC. The MST allows Samsung Pay to work on any card reader while the iPhone 7 can only work on NFC readers.

    Apple is fine, but investors want more growth. Apple will continue to rake in tons of money, but it won't be enough to keep the market happy. Everyone who's saying that Samsung is out-innovating Apple, that does not matter at all. Apple's sales are still through the roof. This will be a record quarter. BUT the share price will drop. I don't think it will drop as much as fs predicted, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it fall to $115 because growth is slowing. The market has been undervaluing Apple (look at its P/E) for years, that's not going to stop now. It will probably just get worse.
