So I work at a daily newspaper in a small city in Texas. Last weekend, there was a local women's march in solidarity with all the other women's marches. Obviously we covered it; we're a local paper.
Anywho, I went in today and the reporter who covered it, she got a voicemail from a guy and she played it for me. He sounded pretty upset that we covered the march and said not a WORD about the pro-life march this week. (Had he bothered to leave a number I would have explained there was NO local pro life march and thus, nothing to cover).
Anyway, he went on to say it's Trump's America and we better get used to it and he ended the call by saying, "Ya'll better man up or fade away."
Which is a pretty hilarious thing to say, I thought. I told our reporter, a woman, she'd better man up lest she fade away.
Then I sang "My My Hey Hey" to myself, replacing it's better to burn out with it's better to man up.
I assume this fellow will not like tomorrow's editorial, rejecting Trump's Muslim ban.
Alas.
