I am not from the us, but I didn't understand against what exactly they protested. All I saw was some abstract posters but nothing concrete that trump would take from them.

It wasn't a March against Trump specifically. More of a March against anything or everything they don't like. Hence the large number of people and sometimes contradictory goals.
