Hello all,
I want to keep this as brief as possible, but there's a lot of points to go over. We all know what has been happening the last few days, so I won't recap, but I will explain some things. It's unfortunate to confirm that the current MF1 administration have resigned from their posts, as they believe their positions are untenable with me as Chairman. I made it clear that I was to stay as a mod of this community after I stepped down running the day-to-day business. This was simply due to the fact that I created the community from the ground up, always wanted my name to be in the sidebar, and always be on hand to help if needed or even take back control if the worst happened.
I've not had a single negative comment about me being a mod over the last 6 months following my voluntary demotion, mainly because I let the current administration do what they wanted, and would seldom interact with the community. Unfortunately, opinions changed sharply over the last few days, and sadly it was over topics that could have been avoided. I won't divulge into the GableRacing mess, because at the end of the day, it's a he said/she said argument. As much evidence there is that I am GableRacing, there is to prove I'm not. I find the current administrations "investigation" comical really, because they mentioned things like private messages between me and Gable being 8 months ago, not 11 months ago, as if I staged those comments 8 months ago, predicting an outbreak of accusations when Gable Racing didn't even EXIST then. Gable also tells me that he has done multiple tests of identification, though they also got ignored from the "investigation". It's also amusing knowing that two of the biggest names on this community (both of whom have been team principals of two different teams at one point or another) are being controlled by the same person.
I'll draw a line under what is fact and what is fiction. I know many won't believe what I say anyway, but for my own comfort, I am not MF1Magazine, I am not GableRacing, I lied about being MF1Magazine to evade a ban from another subreddit. I don't expect people to blindly follow what I say, but running this sub and being a part of this sub for so long, I would've thought I had earned a little amount of trust and respect.
I understand that this resignation from the current administration is more than GableRacing. It's also about my behaviour the last few days. I apologise if I became angry at times, but relentless accusations can be angering. The accusations on this sub have been unfair, but the outright harassment I've received on the discord is just over the line. I do regret closing down the subreddit for a brief moment earlier, it was a moment where I was reflecting on closing the sub down for good, but I decided otherwise. I hope for those who will care, they accept my apology.
I want to wish the new guys the best of luck over on Formular. It will be a new experience for their management team who will have to build from the ground up, without inheriting a great community as they did when I resigned. I won't criticise what they are doing, and I urge people to join. For the record, I won't be taking control back of ModelF1 for a new series. Whilst I considered it, I realised that having two competing series will only split audiences and the community size which will cause us both to fail, I want them to succeed.
The reality is, this community was dying. Since I left my original post, numbers are down across the board. Less members, less visitors, less overall traffic and less subscribers. I have released the traffic stats as public on the subreddit, so people can get an idea of what has been happening. When I handed over leadership I told the next administration that growing the community was top priority, but that clearly didn't happen. We were suppose to have a new season starting already, yet there was no plans or preparations, it looked like the 2017A season was never gonna happen anyway. The community was tanking under new management. It does not look positive for the prosperity of the new sub, but I hope I'm proven wrong.
I want to take the opportunity to thank many people on this subreddit who have been good to me over the last 18 months. I understand that it's only a small group of 5 or 6 people who have a clear issue with me. It's a small group that's been the most vocal and the most aggressive. There are many here who have been friendly and appreciative and have shown me respect. They have been the real members of this sub, not the small vocal minority who have shown some rather ugliness and disappointing behaviour.
I will reveal plans for what will happen to this sub shortly, I'm thinking of keeping it archived like a museum. I am very busy with a number of other e-sport ventures I am undertaking, but will not leave this community to end on this note.
Thank you
