My Fellow Americans,
In the recent months and weeks, I am sure you have noticed — as I have — the proliferation of ugly, nasty and down-right unacceptable comments left in the various comments sections of myriad websites on this, our beloved Internet. Surely we can agree that the increased volume of these unpleasantries has a direct correlation with the rise to power of Herr Trump. These angry people, these hate-filled individuals — the dregs of our society — have ben compelled out of the woodwork due to the anti-American rhetoric being spewed and perpetuated -- propagandized — by the media arm of our present White House. For years we’ve known they were there, we’ve lived amongst them, and we (largely) tolerated them because they were generally harmless; they kept their views to their own little groups and in public, with the rest of us, some of them at least tried to fit in with us tolerant folk.
These people call themselves the “silent majority.” They claim to have been this angry and vile for years and have just now decided to speak up and make themselves known to us so explicitly. They claim that they and their views have always been the belief of the majority of Americans and that now, with Cheetoh Jesus in charge, they feel they no longer have to be silent. They feel liberated. This is unacceptable, as their behavior is intolerable by American standards.
My fellow Americans. They are not the “silent majority.” Those of us who have been here, out in the open, being generally good and tolerant people, WE are the Silent Majority. It is us who have remained silent all these years.
And now, with this beautiful, great country of ours in serious peril, we must raise our collective voices. We can no longer remain silent.
We need women to continue to be loud and make themselves known. We need scientists and activists to be vocal and open and honest about the work they’re doing. We need immigrants, legal or not, to be so vocal and loud that they send the these anti-immigration creatures back to they countries where they came from. Because the rights of the immigrants are our rights. The rights of the scientists and activists to do their work to advanced society are our rights. The rights of women to be able to take care of their bodies without being impeded by old men who have no idea what they f*ck they are talking about are our rights.
And our rights are American rights. Our rights are the rights of decent, tolerant, humane people.
(I am going to speak in generalities now because present-day America, post-20th century America, is made up of generalities. America is made up of people of all shapes and sizes, colors and races, nationalities and religions. This is what makes America great.)
Silently we have always cared about the rights of women. Silently we have always cared about the rights of immigrants, legal or not. Silently we have always cared about science and facts and politicians who, at the very least, wouldn’t lie to our faces on a daily basis through multiple forms of media and mouthpieces. We were silent by 2017 standards because we are a tolerant society. We have done so because we know that if things are not good in the present, we can work to make things better in the future, to progress as a nation.
There was always some sort of hope. Has it always been easy? No, nor have we as a country emerged unscathed. But we’ve made it through. We’re here, in the present. America 2017.
Up until recently, a glimmer of hope always shone bright; it was the torch flame to our Liberty. This hope, in light of our present leadership, is starting to fade. They are trying to extinguish our means to change that which is not perfect. They are threatening our ability to continue to improve as a society, one problem at a time. They are seeking to undue all that we have done to build this great country of ours: The United States America.
We cannot let them do this. We must resist We must fight back. We must no longer ben the Silent Majority.
We must become the Defiant Majority.
We must continue to march for any and all rights, as often as possible, in as many cities as possible. We must continue to inundate whomever we can with phone calls and emails and old-fashioned letters and postcards. We must continue to resist on any and all platforms that we can in defiance of this tyranny that has overtaken our homeland.
We must band together to freeze out their propaganda while exposing their hypocrisy. We must protect the scientific community and the work that they do — funded by OUR tax-dollars — so that we can save the only planet that we have, and so we may continue to advance and improve as a society. We must rise up above it all and save ourselves. Because no one else will.
We know that Donny, with his tiny hands, watches the news. We know that Donald Drumpf follows along on Twitter. And we can assume that, while he may not be reading by intelligence reports, he almost certainly gets reports regarding what we, the Defiant Majority, say about him on the various media sites.
This man-child, this toddler-minded old man has skin so thin it’d be translucent if it wasn’t so poorly tanned all the time. This scumbag of a human being, defrauding students, stiffing contract workers and toying with our lives, cares what we think of him. This comb-over-having, butthole-mouthed, tape-the-back-of-my-tie-like-I’m-seven-years-old Pretender-in-Chief gets ruffled more than a loose pile of leaves in a tornado every time we call him out for what he is: a fraud.
And he gets riled up when we call him a fraud because it’s true. He is a fraud. He is a fraudulent leader and flawed in every which way you could possibly imagine. He’s a fraudulent leader because he probably can’t spell ‘honesty,’ let alone know what it is.
Donald J. Trump is a fraud.
Donald J. Trump is sad man who thinks that by verbally assaulting people on a daily basis and acting tough, and throwing around money he may not actually have, he will gain the respect of people.
But he won’t. Not ours. Not the Defiant Majority.
We see his hypocrisy and flip-flopping. We know that he his hiding something in his tax returns, whether it’s a connection to Russia or a real worth far lower than he tells people and it doesn’t matter which it is because he told us he would show us and he now says he won’t. It doesn’t matter which it is because this man is a walking contradiction and a ticking time-bomb. It doesn’t matter because we can’t trust that his opinion in the morning will be the same as his opinion in the afternoon. It doesn’t matter what this man is hiding from us, the people whom he is supposed to serve faithfully, because we know that he is unfit for the position of President regardless of what he his hiding. It doesn’t matter what he’s hiding from us because we know that he his unfit for the position of President because he his delusional and egomaniacal and narcissistic. It doesn’t matter what this man is hiding from us because we know that he is the worst President our democratic republic systems has ever elected as President and that he cannot be trusted to adequately lead this already-great country.
And he cares that we know all these things about him. It’s why he lashes out on Twitter. It’s why we must continue what we are doing, this multi-faceted campaign against him and his cohorts. We must continue to use whatever non-violent means we have to resist this detestable human being, this selfish UN-AMERICAN baffoon because we know he his delusional. We know that this man, with his fourth-grade vocabulary is an inherent danger to our country and our lives. And he knows that we know and he can’t stand. He’s scared of our resistance.
We must continue to resist.
We must continue organizing non-violent protests to display your outrage at his outrageous policies.. We must continue creating social media accounts where science and facts and knowledge can be shared amongst us, the Defiant Majority — the informed masses. We must continue to donate to organizations that are combatting this tyranny on every level. We must tell our immigrant friends and family that they are wanted in this country, that our families were immigrants too once and that we will fight for their right to live here. We must protect the Native Americans and their customs and the sacredness of their lands, their homes. We must protect our natural landscapes and national parks and beauty that runs through every region of this country. We must encourage scientists and activists to continue to organize and publicly rebel and rally us because we need leaders and they are doing a hell of a job so far. They have stoked the embers and it is up to us to fan the flame.
It’s been said that every generation has its war. Every generation experiences a prolonged even where it’s will is tested, where it’s strength tested; a chance to prove themselves that they can walk through fire and come out better on the other side.
My fellow Americans, THIS is our war. We are the Defiant Majority.
TOGETHER WE STAND. DIVDED WE FALL.
