Chelsea have dominated this season once they switched their lineup from four out of the back to three with higher fullbacks.
The only team that have defeated them since switching was Tottenham who adopted the same style of having a back three. I know we aren't playing badly now,
however we aren't scoring many goals.
Switching to the 3-5-2 lineup could benefit our team for the following reasons:
1)Excluding maybe Mkhi, our team does not have any natural attacking outside wingers, we are made up more of CFs and CAMs.
2)Ibrahimovic needs more support up top to help with scoring goals and making forward runs in behind the defence.
3)A two striker system would help benefit Griezmann (IF we get him this summer) while Ibrahimovic fades from the club in the next two years.
4)A potential French partnership made up of Griezmann,Martial, and Pogba has an average age of 23 between them.
5)Valencia can completely take the role of a more attacking higher fullback;very similar to a Kyle Walker.
6)We have three really good in-form CBs with Chris Smalling as a sub for any of them.
7)Unpopular Option: Young could maybe try it out as the other attacking fullback down the left with his crossing/defense combination.
I know it's probably not realistic that Mourinho would change to this, or that it would actually work, but just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
