Following Wayne Rooney's record-breaking strike against Stoke, the manager who signed him for Manchester United - Sir Alex Ferguson - was asked to pick the forward's best goals.

Rooney's stunning free-kick against the Potters earlier this month took his Reds tally to 250, one ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton, who was watching on from the stands.

Speaking to MUTV, Sir Alex selected Wayne's "unbelievable" overhead kick in a memorable Manchester derby at Old Trafford, his "thunderous" volley against Newcastle and extraordinary effort from the halfway line at West Ham among his favourites.
