Rules

  1. Offensive slurs, used in any context, that are also used to demean a person based on their membership to an oppressed group such as race, nationality, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability are strictly prohibited. Posts that contain creepy dudebro vibes or posts which abjectly fetishize comrades, women, or children will also be removed and the poster banned. If you're not sure, ask before you post!
  2. Malicious name-calling and insulting other communists is prohibited.
  3. Taking sides against the motherland is strictly prohibited.
  4. Advocating, sympathizing with, or otherwise holding the view of any fascist tendency is strictly prohibited.
  5. Only links to subreddits included under the 'Allies of the Motherland' list are allowed and must use np. links. Linking to any other subreddit is prohibited.
  6. Apologia for the 'culture' (read: bigotry) of any 4chan-style boards, or encouraging the use of such, will be met with a swift ban.
  7. No linking to or from SRD, meta, or brigade subs. Do not link to any subreddit that you do not have express permission to do so. Evidence of vote-brigading, trolling, or encouraging either will be addressed punitively.
  8. No Liberalism or Social Democracy. No promotion of liberal or social democratic candidates, ironic or otherwise.
  9. Don't break the jerk.
Punishment is at the discretion of the moderator on hand. All punishments besides certain contexts of rules 1 and 2, and rule 4 are appealable by messaging the moderators of /r/FULLCOMMUNISM.

Opponents of the punch tended to say that violence had no place in political debate. Supporters tended to say the punch was funny . . .
Fuck this guy, with his bullshit implication that "responsible people" would of course abhor such violence, and supporters of the puncher hero are just immature kids.
The reason it is funny isn't just hurr durr talk shit get hit, it's the schadenfreude of seeing someone who advocates for a violent ideology getting met with the same kind of violence he condones against others.

So I spent a long time this afternoon arguing with liberals that bashing the fash is 100% okay.
One person in particular came up with a piece of ideology that I legitimately couldn't think of an argument against.
Ideology: "It isn't okay to escalate the situation, what makes it okay to punch him for advocating violence against minorities and not okay to punch you for advocating violence against him. Abuse is never okay"
It sort of stopped my in my tracks because I agree, abuse is never okay. I also think that hate speech is never okay. Do you have a good leftist argument against that?
My gut says "fuck it, that Nazi deserves it", but that's a very reactionary thought. I'd love a logical connection.

The way I see it is that Fascist speech and ideology is inherently violent, therefore any violence done against a Fascist or someone who uses Fascist rhetoric is self defense, as they have made a first blow by their words and actions.
Think of it this way: of a man should come at you with a knife, you are 100 percent justified in retaliating with equal force. Fascist ideology is violence on a grand scale, and so you are justified in using violence to counteract them.

There is a difference between hating someone because of what they were born as, like Nazis do, and hating people because of the decisions they have made, like we do. They hate people because of their skin, and their religion, and their sexuality, and because they're disabled, and because of a plethora of other reasons that I can't remember at the moment. We hate them because they want to commit genocide. There is no comparison.
People who make that argument usually drop it when I point out that if the Nazi's take power, I'm getting shoved into a camp.

Right, and that's what I ended up settling on. It's because of the decisions made over time that lead someone to be a vocal white supremacist. Even when presented with evidence showing they are wrong, they continue to attempt to subjugate others.

People have already listed most of the points I would say, so I'll just drop this Malcolm X quote here.
