Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced on Thursday that he will not attend a meeting with President Donald Trump originally planned for Jan. 31.

"We have informed the White House this morning that I will not go to the working meeting planned for next Tuesday with @POTUS," Peña Nieto posted on Twitter in Spanish. "Mexico reiterates its good will to work with the United States to reach agreements favorable to both nations."

Trump signaled on Thursday that he was considering canceling the meeting with Peña Nieto after the Mexican president refused, again, to pay for Trump’s proposed border wall.
