For those who've asked, the Orlando numbers are screwy because they include the people killed in the Pulse nightclub shooting.

-
@bradheath@prisonculture Also San Bernardino...? -
@edfischman@prisonculture The mass shooting there was in 2015. Data are Jan.-June 2016.
-
-
-
@bradheath At least three of those would be skewed by mass shootings, though, right? -
@Wej12 Orlando was the only really big one, I think. (SBD was in 2015.) But very good mass killing data here: http://www.gannett-cdn.com/GDContent/mass-killings/index.html#frequency … -
@bradheath I was thinking SBD and Charleston, but that was also 2015. Interesting the rates in those places remain high.
-
-
-
@bradheath Be interesting to see it broken down by area. Imagine wealthier parts are relatively crime free but certain areas have high rate -
@DanSWright I too long for better crime data. FBI doesn't have that level of detail most places - but wants it.
-
-
-
Orlando #2 in murder rate in the US.
@bradheath@samanthabequer@news965wdbo@OrlandoWeekly /2 -
@nanconnolly@samanthabequer@news965wdbo@OrlandoWeekly I haven't checked, but I'm guessing that includes the Pulse shooting that killed 49
-
-
-
@bradheath There is no Orlando7, Florida. This is clearly fake news. -
@SeIpsa Footnote; I'll have to check, but pretty sure it relates to the Pulse shooting. -
@bradheath That would make a lot of sense.
-
-
-
@bradheath but these are facts they deal in "alt-facts" aka lies -
@mysticalbeast Also a fact that a *lot* of people have been shot in Chicago. FBI data show the crime problem there isn't unique. -
@bradheath ah yeah gun-control - what is this 2nd Amd good for? (absolutely nothing ..)
-
-
-
@bradheath@JoeYerardi The MSM does not see how jabs like this help DT. You take the bait every time. Who downplays >300 deaths anywhere? -
@corybriggs Who's downplaying anything? Per-capita is a standard way to look at crime data. Point is Chicago's crime problem isn't unique. -
@bradheath He was appalled at the absolute number of deaths--as everyone should be. You essentially said it could be worse. Not his point. -
@corybriggs huh? Per capita is how you compare two places with different population size on everythinghttps://twitter.com/corybriggs/status/824523494834606080 … -
@NewaHailu@bradheath 100%, and still not DT's point. The MSM ends up in the untenable position of making >300 killings look not so bad. - さらに表示
