What is the word on Anthony Martial and the recent treatment of him by Mourinho?

I for one find it maddening that a young player isn't given leeway to have mediocre games.

Seems every time he has an off game he's dropped the next. Mou has to show him a bit more trust here.

I'm not having the "Mkhitaryan treatment" talk too, coz I'm a firm believer that had he gotten a run early on he would've had the same impact but earlier.

Maybe I'm not following closely enough here with Anthony - so can the sub please enlighten me to his situation.

I feel like everyone is massively over reacting. We have a large squad by Mourinho standards and he's still only 21, so what if he gets dropped for a couple of weeks, it's not going to do him any harm.

I have no problems with him getting dropped from the starting 11, but there's no reason why he shouldn't be on the bench.

So that lads like Youngy can get on the bench and to keep squad morale up? I don't know, I genuinely don't see the issues with him being dropped. Mourinho even said in a recent interview after Memphis left that the wings are our most heavily stacked position, 6 players for two spots..

I mean in terms of when we're chasing a game and need to get a goal like in the game against boro when he scored. He's probably our best option at left wing

The irony of you calling for Jose to have trust in a player while not having it in the manager yourself is telling.

People need to realize that managing a footballer / football club is much more than the 90mins a couple times per week which the public get to see.

Players like Martial and Shaw are dealing with problems and pressures in real life that few can relate to. To think that because someone had a bad game and doesn't play the next that the manager, who has a vested interest in succeeding with his team, is somehow wasting his talent is asinine.

People need to relax, lot of depth at wide positions. Rotation taking place. He'll get his chance vs Hull. Mourinho isn't sidelining him
