Hi guys,

It's a rule on this sub that we don't allow people to spam their blog, YT channel, podcast, etc etc, without being an active member of /r/reddevils. We aren't robots you can use to gain clicks. Either join in with our other posts or you're not allowed to post. Most self-promotion gets downvoted anyway as it's easily recognized as such.

However, we've had many, many accounts recently promoting just their Youtube channel, and the videos they post are interviews, press conferences, TV discussions, etc. They get upvoted, but they're doing the exact same thing as the people spamming their blogs. They're just using us for clicks and attention.

What do you want to see allowed? It's basically creating a '1 rule for one, 1 rule for another' scenario if we let them stand and we'd like to be fair to everyone who wants to promote themselves, and all videos do get to the sub eventually from active users, but slightly easier obtainable if we let them slide.
